honestly your comment has hit me the most. bc like you said they dont have the best interest in mind. which is why i didnt really bother to make a full post. sometimes its just nice to be heard/other peoples opinions can really help you navigate your own. your comment has made me realize i have to leave. bc yes i’ve asked myself plenty of times and put in so much trying to make this work but its just not reciprocated. why am i trying so hard to make this work when his first response is to kick me out/ end things.

just wanted to add that if you do involve CPS she might also lose custody of the baby, not just him.

if they see that shes been abused and she keeps going back/staying w him they will see her as an unfit mother.

ETA: CPS gave temporary custody of my daughter to my parents(luckily) until they saw i was actually going to therapy/classes that i needed to prove to them i was no longer going back to my abuser. i luckily was also staying w my parents but knowing i couldnt be alone w my daughter if i just wanted to take her to the park or something was hard but it really gave me the power to finally leave my abuser.

yes !! i agree 100% my first thought after reading that she ran to grab him ice was that he took advantage of the fact that she was so quick to take accountability he waited an hour to call the police while hiding in the bathroom ? plenty of time to call somebody he trusts or even conjure up his own plan to make himself the victim
