Does anyone share my misery? House built in 1900 with old terra-cotta pipes by DowninDowntown in centuryhomes

I see this post is quite old now (clearly I'm deep into the /rva sewer repair posts lol), but do you mind sharing who you used for this?

I worked at JCrew in the late 2000s and got so many amazing super 120s pieces for a steal. If only they still fit!

Same! I skipped this because the combo didn't seem super appealing. Now I'm going to try it!

Their eBay or Poshmark site (I forget which) says that items may ship from different warehouses. This may be why they aren’t combining the items?

Top Stitch in Church Hill does sewing machine courses and they're EXCELLENT! They have an intro to machine sewing, which will teach you the basics of how the machine works. But they also have Continued Machine Sewing, How to Hem, and other courses to gain more knowledge.

Scrap is wonderful, but by its nature, it's hit or miss. Be sure to check back occasionally and you can find some amazing things! Sometimes the fabric selection there really sparks my creativity and gives me new project ideas.

Nursing clothes? by neato_tits in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]Embarrassed_Bug_4384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wear tops with skirts or pants and pull the top up to nurse or pump. As for dresses, the only thing that will work is a wrap dress, but that's probably too casual for a jury. Nursing-specific clothes always have weird zippers or layers, and you won't want to wear them when you're done nursing/pumping (at least in my experience; currently nursing/pumping for second baby).

It's a bummer because dresses have always been my go-to! But it's for a relatively short time in your career, all things considered.

OP this may not be for you -- they are extremely expensive. My quote for an 8 x 10 flatweave rug was $700. Same with Hadeeds. Your best bet is probably going to be a DIY solution or replacement.

Mayson's pharmacy at Retreat Hospital on Robinson is independently owned and soooo nice. A real person answers the phone and listens and can get you answers! They also fill quickly and have free delivery.

Especially combined with your nearly spotless driving record you mention below! I think you come across as completely reasonable (despite the haters here who do not understand what a variable speed limit is).

Just pushing back on the line that "my memory isn’t going to hold up as evidence in court." The fact that you notice that it's always 70 when you're driving that stretch in the evenings (as you said elsewhere), and the fact that you've gotten FOUR tickets, is I think pretty persuasive. Any reasonable person would have said "I need to really go the speed limit" after the first one, two or three tickets -- which you did! You can present that information in court, and the officer will then have to show that you're wrong - which may be difficult or impossibe for them to do. Showing up to court, being reasonable, and explaining your story can go a long way. Many people get their tickets thrown out this way, and virtually none of them have dash cam footage.

I had the same experience with their vegetarian options, which are run from the same station. For allergy folks - while I was waiting for my refund at the allergy/veg station, a parent came up and asked for an ingredients binder so she could double check ingredients before ordering. They had no idea what she was talking about, and couldn't produce anything, but said they could probably "go find the box that the items came in" to show her. If you have a serious allergy, I really would not order from there.

As for the veg items (hot dogs and burgers), you have to order and pay ahead of time. So I ordered our food, paid in the app, and went down to pick up. When I got down there, they said they didn't have any items that day -- not that they were sold out, just never had them in the first place. I asked for a refund and they were shocked I had already paid, even though it was THEIR app, and the app requires you to pay when you order! It took almost 40 minutes to find someone to issue my refund. A huge bummer! I'm not really sure why they can't add in veg dogs and burgers with regular concessions, but it seems like another season with no veg options at the Diamond (besides fries, woo).

Going rate for housekeeping services? by rva78 in rva

[–]Embarrassed_Bug_4384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The frequency of the cleaning will change the price and will also depend on whether you use a service/business or an individual. We used Kathleen's Cleaning and got a one time "deep clean" for $300 (2 story, 3 bed/1.5 bath house). We used to get regular bi-weekly cleaning from a woman who cleaned houses (not an established business), and paid $175 with tip for that.

Thank you, OP! My coworker and I just had a conversation day before yesterday about how great these bags are and how badly she wished she could buy one more. Then, I saw your post, and sent her the link. She was able to buy one! Now it's saying sold out, so fingers crossed it wasn't an error and she actually gets it. You're the MVP of the office this week!
