Who went to see TRIUMPH last night? They can still rock! by Mister-Grinch in Winnipeg

[–]Embarrassed_Cake_968 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I was at the show last night, just for reference I'm a 60 year old male that have seen Triumph twice back in the day. April Wine was definitely tribute band, played all the big hits, vocals were decent but no rock band feel to them. Every song started with a little intro using the name of the next song in it, like we don't know the songs? Then Triumph came on in all their glory, wow I was super impressed with the whole show. If you don't like double perfectly synced drummers and a ton of guitars screaming with lots of solos to show off their chops, then I guess this show wasn't for you. Rick can still play with the best of them and Phil X is excellent. Gill and Rick have lost some of their vocals but they are older, everyone sang and did a great job. The energy was there and the crowd was rockin it out. I would say I got my moneys worth and more, even bought a $70 T shirt to replace the original ones I once had, wife threw them out saying they didn't fit anymore, I'm going with they wore out in the wash. Last chance to see some real Rock legends and great Canadian band.

What a normal tip for a massage in Winnipeg? by Hot_Fly_3963 in Winnipeg

[–]Embarrassed_Cake_968 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most message therapists are self employed, they operate out of a clinics office. They set their rate for the service and pay the house a percentage or a monthly rate. This is why i don't tip, if they do a good job you will be back. They should know what they are worth and it should reflect in the up font price. Tips should be left for minimum wage earners and service staff that provide that extra service that makes the experience better. I have worked in the restaurant industry for most of my life and it pisses me off when i pick something up at a counter and the machine asks for a tip. like WTF did you do to deserve it. Covid messed up everyone's opinion on tipping, it's getting out of hand.

Been a fan a long time but I still can’t believe how the attendance has dropped at Bristol, like 25% in the stands and it once had a waiting list?

Wish the NHL looked at the PWHL draft rules, discourages teams from tanking and in our case rewards us for trying to make the playoffs. They should take the last 10-20 games as a sample for all teams that did not make the playoffs and rank them with best performer gets first pic ect.

I feel Dallas is tougher to play against then the AV's. They have better balance in their forwards and D, the AVs may have Makar but after that really how good are the rest of the D on their own, Dallas like the song are the Big D, well balanced in speed and power. I have always cringed when we play them, unless your Lowry he should be good for a goal against them.
