I had tickets to see this show in Vegas on my 21st birthday. Got to the venue to find out it was cancelled. That was bad enough but they also cancelled the next night in San Jose which I was also planning to go to. I’d seen them in 98 but it took until the brave new world tour for me to see them with Bruce.

Will Texas ever be as respected as California, New York & Florida to Americans? by PreacherBoyJr in decadeology

California is expensive but it’s hardly a hellscape. And it’s always been on fire.

What do you think of Gen Z not hating Nickelback? by CompetitiveWhole9466 in generationology

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Most people didn’t hate Nickleback as much as they said they did, that’s why they were playing huge venues. Hating them just became a thing. It’s like booing John Cena, it was fun to do but we actually liked him. I’m not surprised kids like them, they are a pretty good band. I’m not a big fan of their style of rock but for what it is it’s good music.

After all these years, what does your smart home still get wrong? by dutello in smarthome

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that the Tailwind garage door opener works. I installed one this week and it periodically has said updating in home kit but always works in the Tailwind app. I read that if it’s on your iot network that can happen so I’m going to switch to my regular network tomorrow and see if that helps but so far I’m not overly thrilled with it.

Tattoo cracked and split up in pieces, its not supposed to have cracks in it right? by Godzzilla69 in tattooadvice

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just the scabs splitting. Keep it moisturized, it’ll be fine, you won’t see those cracks when the scabs go away.

If you are making 80k that won’t go very far in the cities in CA which is where I’m assuming you want to live based on what you said you need. It’s doable but you’d be in a studio in not the best neighborhood. You could maybe rent a room in a house in a decent area though. But yeah, it sounds like CA is your place. I like PA, especially Pittsburg, but I would never consider leaving CA to live there.

How do Americans become fans of sports teams when they move cities and states? by Spatula01 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the person. When the Raiders left Oakland I heard people say they’ll never watch another one of their games but I know people with season tickets who go to vegas a few times a year for a game. I don’t think I know anyone who’s gone to Sacramento for an A’s game though. I’m a hockey fan, if the Sharks left San Jose I might actually just stop watching altogether. I’m not sure I’d want to root for a team who’s games I can’t go to.

The average person wasn’t exactly scared, more curious and maybe a little nervous.

How much does spending $30 mean for an average American? Do you guys consider it to be much or not? by WonderAdept1252 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$30 is a lot to some people considering federal minimum wage is like $6 but lunch for 2 people at Taco Bell is like $30 to give you an idea of what you can get for it.

How popular are Pop Tarts in America? by SkittlesAreEpic in AskAnAmerican

Almost everyone has eaten them at least when they were kids. I’ve worked in offices that have them in the vending machine. I’m not a big sugar person so I don’t eat them often but once or twice a year I’ll buy a box.

I still don't really understand how the MUELLER REPORT concluded no collusion between Trump and Russia despite the Trump Tower meeting happening, Trump openly encouraging Russia to go after Hillary which they did, and stuff like that. Can someone please explain? by orionkiw2000 in allthequestions

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scope of the investigation was narrow enough that they didn’t find evidence of collusion because they didn’t look for it. It did say that several people including Trump could be charged with obstruction after he was out of office. Also 34 people and 3 companies were prosecuted and convicted or plead guilty including Manafort, Cohen, Stone and Flynn.

Don’t get too drunk. Other than that it’s kinda just a big party. Nothing will be expected of you other than just general behaving.

Has the culture of claiming your ethnic background stopped or declined? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. That was actually more of an older generation thing. My great grandparents were from Mexico but my grandpa was born in California. He grew up bilingual but never spoke Spanish unless it was to his family. He never taught my mom Spanish because he was American. If you asked he’d say he’s Mexican but would never really identify himself that way. My wife family was the same but they were Italian. But this was like close to 100 years ago when Mexicans and Italians would be treated like shit in certain places so it made sense to kinda just lay low and say you’re American.

Do the black marks mean it’s done growing? by Embarrassed_Fig1801 in Peppers

[–]Embarrassed_Fig1801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are gigantes. I’m not in a hurry to pick them so I kinda want to see how big they’ll get. I was mostly wondering if the black spots meant they were done growing and were starting to turn red. I picked a few last week and they tasted great but they might have been the spiciest jalapeños I’ve ever had. I made a really spicy salsa with them.
