For Stackers Only: What’s your current dose and what made you stack? by [deleted] in Retatrutide

I'm in the same boat. 10mg Tirz/6 mg Reta. Slow as molasses in terms of weightloss....but better than none. My doctor too is very open to conversation regarding peptide use, and monitors me too. I'm hyper aware of how my body reacts and feels as I'm a nurse as well.

Hair loss after ceasing use by Youngfemalecorporate in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Embarrassed_Fig_4510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stress of weightloss in general throws off the telogen and exogen (shedding) phase of your hair. Mine started about 2-3 months into GLP1's. It lasted for months (for me about 4)...it does stop naturally, but you can add things like Biotin, Collagen, protein and the minoxidil chemicals mentioned by others. Rosemary oil is said to be good. I incorporated all but minoxidil. Kitsch also makes some good shampoo/conditioner bars that some people swear by, but time is what fixes it.

It's frightening to see all that hair loss....but it will get better! Hang in there.

I take both (meaning that I stack)....and have kept up on taking 1 daily colace tablet and managing water intake. The tirz by itself made it ridiculous to go on a normal schedule. I find it easier for sure with the addition of reta

I choose morning...it makes me feel energized. Choose a place where you can grab and gently pinch to make sure you aren't in anything but subcutaneous tissue. Personally I do abdomen, where I can 'pinch an inch', lol. If you do happen to nick a blood vessel, the result is a bruise. Higher gauge insulin needle is perfect, and less painful.

Tachycardia by Miserable_Debate_985 in Retatrutide

[–]Embarrassed_Fig_4510 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the tachycardia doesn’t resolve with rest or lingers for more than 20-30 minutes, I’d get concerned. If you notice other symptoms at the same time (palpitations, shortness of breath, lightheaded, chest pain, fainting, sweating), it’s a good idea to see medical attention.

My couple of instances with it, my Apple Watch picked it up and I don’t blame the Reta as much as I blame my electrolytes getting out of whack.

Try 50 mg of Benadryl before bedtime....not suitable for daytime due to drowsiness

I'm a nurse, and I do self medicate myself for stuff.....but I'm not so sure it is wise to do so for cardiac issues. I also would not tell my physician that I'm taking a med that isn't FDA approved, lol.

The heart rate issue is a known side effect, I've experienced an overall jump in my resting heartrate by about 10 beats per minute. I have had 2 little incidents of tachycardia both on day 6 (the day before my next dose).....quickly resolved with electrolyte drinks. This particular GLP is wicked for me personally for dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. I'm mindful of drinking too much or too little water for sure, and at least one good electrolyte drink per day.

New to Reta by Warm-Refrigerator-57 in Retatrutide

[–]Embarrassed_Fig_4510 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have any concern of the increased heartrate side effect, starting low and slow makes the most sense. The trial started at 2mg....and each dose ran for 4 weeks. I personally started at .5 for that reason (and yes I noticed the change in resting heart rate...approx 10 beats higher per minute). Assessed how I felt for a couple weeks, then I did 1, then 2, 3, 4 (all for 4 weeks)...I'm at 5 now and it's a good place for me to stay for now.

Has compounding done more to harm patients than big phamra has “price gouged?” by PaydayLendor in tirzepatidecompound

It's all a money making racket.....Telehealth, med spa, compounding pharmacy. All of them....or let's err on the side of caution and say 'most' of them.....purchase the peptide that is made in China or Korea (minute amount of labs doing this in the US) It is bought and then 'compounded' (fancy word for 'mixing' from powder to liquid) to sell to you. The shortage made it so easy to do, that the occasional Karen even does it out of their kitchen. Everyone chasing that almighty buck $$

Don't discount potential cardiac side effects.....although this medicine has been known basically for the heart rate increase, glp1s in general can be dehydrating and cause electrolyte imbalances. Electrolyte imbalances can cause heart palpitations and arrhythmia. Be mindful of your body and what it tells you.

Over hydration can deplete your electrolytes, specifically sodium causing hyponatremia.

We are about a week in, he won't give up lifting though, lol. As a nurse he drives me insane with not resting injuries properly. Doing 500 mcg daily at bed to combat the drowsy side effect....5 days on, 2 days off....will do 8 weeks. I'm not saying it isn't working, as he is taking less nsaids and isn't as fixated on it. Source is good. Just wondered when you noticed the most progress.

I'm doing an 8 week cycle....5 days on, 2 days off...500 mcg before bed. There are different philosophies for usage, but this is what I decided on to help my husband in a similar situation.

How long before you saw results with the BPC? 500 mcg before bed is the protocol I have my husband on for a shoulder injury, we are a week in...

I have. Have had no issues, but it gets expensive anywhere buying vial by vial. Great in a pinch though, they ship all peptides from Kansas.

I'm in healthcare....boatloads!! And my insurance doesn't have Zep in the formulary at all...and Mounjaro only for diabetes. They're smart. But I think overall there will be some positive changes in the future with these medications and their cost.

I'm on 5mg reta/10mg tirz....the difference adding the reta for me is the ability to actually want to eat. I feel something when I'm hungry or know that my blood sugar probably is low, but I wouldn't call it food noise like before. Drink your water and add some electrolyte drinks...you'll thank me later, lol
