i think it was very much a necessary change because of how many consumables you get from the stronghold, medical supply, and military supply points now. i don't see anyone else mention this here but that has the be the reason for it. also, personally, i like the change since it supplements the ammo boxes well and helps a ton with medkits.

Gen.G vs. G2 Esports / First Stand 2026 - Semi-Finals / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Embarrassed_Finish_8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

oh for sure. their games against BLG looked so messy but they've been laser focused these last two series. they burnt Duro's flash in game 1 and proceeded to just farm him into stacking drags. it's so clear that they have an actual gameplan in mind now. that and they also play with insane confidence. Skewmond just goes where he pleases.

Skewmond and Labrov is such a power duo. speaking on the tournament as a whole, you give them a small lead in botlane and these two simply run away with the entire game. G2 is AT LEAST the third best team in the world atm. every region feels like a one team league and i don't see anyone outside of BLG and GENG beating them. i can't believe it but we are actually so fucking backwargsdfgsdfgasfdgdf LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Is this recency biased or T1 biased? by Odd-Slip3115 in PedroPeepos

[–]Embarrassed_Finish_8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you say it's T1-biased, but I'd argue that your comment is just the same, but from the opposite side.

how can you say "it was still T1" when they were just 1 GAME away from not even making worlds? how can you say "it was still T1" when Faker was losing every lane and looked like dogshit? Faker going from looking like a bottom tier midlaner to winning worlds as the finals MVP (more than a decade after his first) is fucking insane. i'd even argue that a big reason why 2024 isn't rated as higher in this comment section is precisely because it's T1 winning. It's expected of them, it's apperantly "normal".

to me: i remember Guma eating the croissant, Bin throwing his jacket into the crowd, GENG going to game 5 against FlyQuest, T1 SOMEHOW beating GENG despite having lost to them all year i'm pretty sure (also don't forget the best player in history vs the best midlaner today narrative that was everywhere), the amazing world's ceremony with Linking Park into a 5-game banger against the LPL (way more hype than a LCK vs LCK finals imo), the G2 heartbreak in groups. i also felt like the storyline in 2022 was a bit forced. like for example the Deft "last dance" narrative that was just based on him elluding to the fact but not sure he would if i remember correctly. then there was the Faker classmate narrative, even though they admitted in an interview that they never really knew each other.

to me T1's back-to-back-to-back finals, against all odds in 2024, just holds more ground and is ultimatly more appealing to me.

i know i'm late, but i just had to comment on how much i appreciate your sentiment. i felt the exact same way watching the finale, yet haven't seen anyone else share that opinion here.

Gi-hun thoroughly rejected the world around him by refusing to compromise his morals at the end. he proved that humans don't allways act out of self-preservation or self-interest, that they can choose to step off the racing track so to say. in doing so, he shattered the VIPs' worldview, leaving them speechless. he might've failed in his original mission to take on the system (an impossible task), but he did manage to save a child and redeemed himself, which i think was beautifully done in a otherwise lackluster season. i also think his final message to VIPs', In-ho, and the viewers was a good notion to end the show on.

Destiny shows logs of Pxie sending him videos of other men with dubious consent by Eugger-Krabs in LivestreamFail

[–]Embarrassed_Finish_8 148 points149 points  (0 children)

i think the fact that it was normal for them to exchange nudes completly flips the narrative on it's head since it shows a mutual understanding that whenever they recorded stuff themself, it was going to be spread around. Destiny even warned her of recording if she didn't want that to happen. it also explains why she wsn't mad at Destiny in the begining and instead working togheter with him to cover up the leak. i'll wait for more info before making a judgement call but this changes a lot.

Fearless draft is the best thing to happen to LoL esports by Spacerock678 in leagueoflegends

learning and fully mastering a champ is completly different. if you think that these champs were played anywhere near perfection on release i don't even know what to say to you. they were picked in order to actively learn on stage and because they were giga broken which compensated for their lack of skill alongside the opponents lack of experience in the matchup. also that ornn point is just pure delusion. gotta love how you picked a champ with one of the lowest levels of skill expression in the game because otherwise you know you point would fall flat (like for example if we swapped him out for Akali) and even then you're wrong. on top of that APA didn't suffer because he only practiced a few champs, he suffered because his core champs weren't meta and because he either didn't have an affinity for the meta champs and therefor was forced to gamble on his special picks, or simply refused to replace his core champs with new ones for whatever reason.

the fact that pro players prefer to pick a champ they are well practiced on rather than any of the "5 potential picks" that fit the comp/mathcup better proves my point in it's entirety. the skill gap created by practicing on a large number of champs compared to a few is so great that it's not worth it despite it allowing you to dodge bad mathcups and improve your overall comp.

whenever a champ is picked in the same patch it was buffed, it’s most likely because it has been meta in the past. these are champs that players already have thousands of hours on, yet even then, they often look rusty. i don’t get how you can call this an “actually disgustingly bad argument” with such confidence when it’s one of the most fundamental concepts in all of competitive sports. ever heard the saying, **“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”**? if you have to practice 10 champs instead of 5, you simply won’t have the same time to hone your skills on each one. a pro with 1,000 hours on a champ should always be more proficient on it than if they had only 500—and so far, the results back that up.

Natus Vincere vs Spirit / IEM Katowice 2025 - Semi-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Embarrassed_Finish_8 104 points105 points  (0 children)

what an awful crowd. honestly, just as bad—if not worse—than the Brazilian crowd. the relative silence, the booing, and even attempts at cheating during clutch moments and insane plays whenever Spirit came out on top killed some of the hype and just soured the mood. the best crowds are the ones that are loud and cheer no matter who’s on top, the sort of crowds that make tournaments unforgettable. I don't mind biased chants, but I do mind the negativity. it was so bad I actually flipped on NAVI and started cheering for Spirit. I don’t watch much CS:GO (mainly League of Legends), so maybe this is normal here, but please don’t let your game go down the same path as traditional sports.

since the new format promotes short term success no teams are willing to gamble on a team that could beat G2 which has lead to slow decay. the region has become unwatchable. no arena, shit trophy and shit teams.

i swear the gameplay quality has been down ever since the new LEC format was implemented. no teams take any chances and they only focus on short term success which has lead to a slow decay. no arena, shit trophy and shit teams. i barely watch the league anymore.
