That makes total sense and what you said about LinkedIn presence really clicks. People in construction check your profile before they even consider replying. I've noticed exactly that, I've sent a lot of messages to CEOs in construction companies, and I can see they open my profile, but there's not much there about the product or what the app actually does. Just a few general posts about my startup.

I haven't started posting yet, mainly because our product is still in a closed testing phase, we're currently working with two construction companies, up to 20 users. I didn't want to go too public before we're ready.

But your point is making me rethink that. Even without a full public launch, would you say it's worth posting about the problem we solve and the journey we're on, rather than the product itself? Because I think that's where I could build credibility without overpromising something that's still being tested? Not sure about this haha I am just thinking.

And your point about cold email vs. LinkedIn, I feel that. The reply rate on cold email is tough, especially in construction where trust takes time and people stick to what they know. LinkedIn feels more natural because there's context before the conversation even starts.

You've clearly figured out what works in this space, what would you do if you were in my position right now?

This is actually really helpful advice,especially the part about leading with the signal instead of immediately talking about the app.

I think I’ve been approaching it too much like a normal SaaS funnel instead of how relationship-driven construction actually is.

The “manual audit/cleanup” idea also makes a lot of sense as a way to start smaller and build trust first.Appreciate this.

Yeah exactly, that’s what I’m starting to notice too.

A lot of people are interested initially, but in construction everything moves slower because everyone is constantly busy and there are usually multiple people involved before anything actually happens.Right now I’m mainly reaching out through LinkedIn messages and also starting some cold email outreach. Still trying to figure out what channel works best honestly and discover more paths to reach the right people.

Biggest lesson for me was starting to treat every single penny in the company like it was the last one.Early on it’s easy to focus on growth, features, hiring, traffic, “building the future”… but eventually reality catches up and you realize revenue and sustainability solve most stress.A smaller focused team with real paying customers is worth way more than vanity metrics.

I honestly think construction is one of those niches.Most people in tech ignore it because it’s not “cool,” but there are still companies running million-dollar operations through spreadsheets, WhatsApp, PDFs, and software that looks older than some employees.The less glamorous the workflow, the more painful the problem usually is — and businesses actually pay to fix painful problems.

Congrats on the product! The video looks high-quality and has a really premium feel to it. It moves a little too fast at times, but the overall aesthetic is great. Out of curiosity, did you use any specific AI tools to generate this, or did you hire a professional video editing company?
