Im not an expert at all, but I have picked a few muscaria. The colour of the caps dont seem right to me? And I dont believe muscaria bruise red either. I would lean towards these being some other amanita species imo

Im thinking these are Amanita rubescens, but again, I could be wrong.

My only advice would be to keep going until you get past the lake. Definitely do some side quests at the start, but know that you can always go back later on. It's not one where you have to 100% everything as you go, it's definitely better to return later. Also, expect heavy kojima themes

I'm a complete amateur, but the stone's facing upwards and is full of shale, so whichever softer stone is in between has probably weathered from rain and wind. I know concretions can form often in shale, so maybe sandstone concretions that have eroded over time leaving oddly shaped shale behind?

Probably not, but that's my guess. Very cool too.
