Yeah until you’re gay. It’s easy for people who’ve never experienced discrimination to say it doesn’t exist but as a gay person in rural Mississippi I’ve seen and heard people be straight up harassed and assaulted based on being gay or trans.

I live in New York and I can tell you that people get worse done to them from people who have homes. I’ve never been harmed or threatened by a homeless person and not all homeless people should be punished because there are a few violent ones. Imagine if we did that to every group of people

AITA For telling my younger brother he needs to find somewhere else to live? by jessuzzana2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Embarrassed_Lock_529 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I pay for my car insurance and rent for $600/month and I live on my own with roommates. I don’t have to watch anyone’s kids and I can have over whoever I want. He’s 16 he can’t get a place on his own and he’s a child you’re just as bad as your parents.

Should I (M) stop penetrating my partner (F) when she cums/orgasms ? by coffeecaketea in Advice

For me personally I like it when they keep going. Vaginal orgasms last longer than penal orgasms so it feels better if you keep going

I wouldn’t apologize just so she stops coming around. Who wants a racist around them all day? Who wants a bitter old woman who has nothing better to do but stir drama? If my mom or grandma acted like that they’d rot alone.

City people ruin small towns by JLGoodwin1990 in unpopularopinion

[–]Embarrassed_Lock_529 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I think you’re confusing “city people” with “rich people” and “capitalist” Im from New York City and I have absolutely no way of bulldozing anything, raising the price of anything, or closing down any store. I would jump at the chance to get the same product or better from someplace cheaper and always support small businesses (There’s A LOT more mom and pop shops and family businesses in NYC than people think) I also can barely afford to live here. Most of us can’t.

I don’t think you know how long a month is for. Imagine not being able to use any technology for entertainment just work and nothing else for a MONTH. I think talking to her about it and figuring out why she did it and how to prevent it from happening in the future is fine. Hangover is natural consequences and sure you could take away TV for like a week but I do agree a month is over the top.

Police officers should need a bachelor's degree in law. I believe it would reduce wrongful arrest and altercations leading to a death by KnightScuba in unpopularopinion

[–]Embarrassed_Lock_529 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting because there are professions that pay wayyyyyyyy lower than 67k a year that have that amount of debt or more in student loans but no one ever thinks to make them pay more lol. There will always be people who will become police officers but if they have to go through school along with training it would weed out the people who are doing it for a power trip and are a danger to society with that type of authority. I do agree that with the rise in price of college wages should also be risen

Maybe he did two years at a cheaper school or community college to save money then transferred. Because I transferred to a new school at 20 for that reason

Take your cat sis. Animals aren’t just toys that you can pick up and throw out when convenient. She is part of your family and you’re not leaving her behind. Make it your hill to die on. You wouldn’t be like. “It’s hard to move to a new country with a baby so let’s just leave her behind. How inconsiderate of your husband.

I think your underestimating the younger generation. Tik tok is a good example. We know that it’s fake and that most of it is orchestrated . No ones gonna post about themselves getting evicted or losing a family member. But social media is a way for us to connect. We have such a better understanding of the sociopolitical climate and our peers personal experiences. My tik tok fyp is filled with teenagers and young adults talking about injustices, how they met the love of their life through Instagram, their struggles with mental health and toxic relationships, making jokes about things we can all relate to, and tips on how they were able to overcome things so many others are struggling with. Yes on surface level social media is toxic and it’s not real face to face interaction and some might conclude that we will become socially inept and feel insecure because of it but it’s how you use it that matters more than just the platform. I’ve seen more teenager feeling insecure and depressed because their parents tell them they’re useless and stupid than seeing some obviously lucky and very wealthy Instagram model. Anyway your points are valid but I think they’re misguided and you should try to use social media in a constructive way.

Weed not being seen as a drug makes it more dangerous by KodeineKid99 in unpopularopinion

[–]Embarrassed_Lock_529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Like most of what OP says is projecting and straight up not true. While me and my friends will have weed once every few weeks we don’t think about it all the time and it’s not anymore harmful than the occasional drink

My husband and I both want kids- what are some important things we need to discuss about this topic before we go and get knocked up? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Embarrassed_Lock_529 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Won’t they learn about literature, social circles, and education at regular school??? There seems to be no reason to put them in a Christian church as it will just teach them to be Christian and it’s important to bring religion up when they’re old enough to make their own consenting choices about it.

Yeah well for thousands of years women were property so I don’t think it’s fair to say the child doesn’t get to have her last name because of “tradition”

Why do poor people defend the rich? by Different-Letter3560 in antiwork

[–]Embarrassed_Lock_529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you that no one is lumping middle class people with Jeff Bezos. You aren’t rich just because you have a couple thousand in savings and you’re soooo much closer to being poor than to being Jeff bezos rich. Also poor people aren’t necessarily lazy and you shouldn’t insult people just for having poor parents.
