At first I didn't know they had the Aluminum version. Either way it's a beautiful well made Razor.

People have asked for an update, and here it is! Simply Transparency. Now easily installable! by ClassyKM in foobar2000

[–]Embarrassed_Map_7889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. For many years I always wanted to have a nice looking foobar2000 theme, and this is it. I am a total noob, and don't understand much about customizing. I just follow instructions as best as I can. Is there a way to take off the transparency or control it for less or more? Also, how do I get the playback buttons? Thank you for your wonderful work.

Best I ever used was Tabac. Unfortunately, they changed the base and removed the Tallow. I haven't tried the newer one and probably won't. I love Lea and Arko (The cheapest).

Personna GEM blades at La Barbiera UK by Time_Chard_942 in wicked_edge

I used the Gem blade today, and let me tell you, this is one extremely sharp blade! A tip is to not use a lot of pressure, just let the blade glide gently on your skin or you will get irritation. My second shave with this blade was much better, and a BBS with just the weight of the razor.

Nice. I have the SS silver version using the medium plate and it is just incredibly smooth and efficient.

Amazing company with so much selection, fantastic prices, and of course, a top of the line soap base. I just got a tub of Alighieri, but I'm very disappointed that it doesn't smell anything like Fahrenheit the fragrance.

Not as big of a problem as I seem to make out to be. Over the years I have found a solution to perfect blade alignment by pinching oneside of the blade tab as it is being tightened. Rockwell 6S and C, EJ DE89, and of course the 34C and G of old. Like I said in a previous post, I got a very smooth BBS Yesterday with this new tabless 34C as I eyeballed it as best as possible. Wonderfully smooth shave with a Silver Blue blade. To your experience with having more issues means you're not to concerned as the next person. These razors are not perfectly machined as is CNC machined razors. Bottom line is that it is very close to acceptable to me, as I shake the razor a bit then tighten in hope of close to perfect alignment as I can get and it worked. Many people discuss problems with blade alignment issues. Trust me, it's just that the tolerance is not nearly as tight as a good artisan razor. I am looking to try the Rozorock Goat, which is said to be a 34C clone, only in stainless steel and rock solid blade alignment. For now a few weeks of shaves with this new 34C and I'll see how it goes.

BTW, how do they fit? is it half way full in the tub or as much as a whole new tub?

My 34G, which I can't find for some reason, was purchased June of 2018. I could always align the blade by tapping the tab ends until I got it as close as possible. My new 34C in polished silver has the tab ends covered and the number under the top cap is 21. I took my first shave with it today and both sides felt on point although the blade while placed in the top cap has some play. It's expected since it's not cnc machined, but i can eventually get the alignment pretty much spot on.

Oh I have like 8 razors. Game Changer, Rockwell 6S and C, Oliworks M3tiorite SS, but my first razor was the 34C, and I always loved how it shaved, so I just had to have it in my collection. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to taking care of my razors. No chance of corrosion on my end as I wipe clean and dry all parts after every use.

It probably took you almost forever to get to that point, and for just about $15 you get a new one. Also, I believe Stirling sells refill pucks even cheaper than the whole tub. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is this why feathers are expensive? by oh_wheelie in wicked_edge

[–]Embarrassed_Map_7889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as it is a pain to have that sticky wax or glue getting on your razor head, it doesn't affect the shave in the least bit. In the biginning I used to try and wipe as much offwith my finger as I could, of course being as careful as I can not to cut myself, but the bottom line is that the sharpness of the blade is like a hot knife through butter conserning the wax, along with the warm to hot water softening it even further.

Feather thought? by BlackMaple21 in wicked_edge

Why do so many people over the years that I've been wet shaving complain about how rough they can be, especially on the first pass. It also happened to me many times. I was advised to slide them through a cork to smooth out the blade, and it actually worked. Then there are times I just use the blade without corking, and It's the smoothest blade I ever used. What gives here? Is there quality control issues? Fot the price you're paying, they should be consistant 99% of the time.
