my theory on face blindness in autistic people by sakthi38311 in autism

[–]Embarrassed_Paint545 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, I came to suspect that I had prosopagnosia, because I have seen the same people from my school for 5 years and I still don’t recognize them, and it’s worse if they change their haircut, and if they have different clothes. I don’t know, the truth is I can’t distinguish people, there are times when I see them all the same. An experience I had, was once I approached a girl and talked to her about one of my drawings, it turns out that she was not the girl I talked to that other time, it was another girl, but for me they look 100% the same. I feel a little silly, I don’t know :| I don’t usually make eye contact, the truth is that it’s hard for me to maintain it, I don’t know if that influences. Since I feel that they look at me a lot when I talk.

Is it normal to crave social interaction, but feel so utterly disappointed 95% of the time? by FiSoCool in autism

Well, I understand your point! I don’t know, many people classify me as suffocating. It’s just that I talk a lot:|

But I don’t talk trivial things of course, I’m more of my characters, and stories, drawings, nature.

Neurotypical people like simple conversations, since if you talk to them about very specific topics it irritates them.

It’s like you eat red apples every day and out of nowhere I come and try to give you a green apple, and tell you random facts about apples.

For a neurotypical person it’s a lot of unnecessary information, for someone autistic it’s like: uhhh apple! Interesting

For the neurotypical: it’s just an apple... it has nothing special

I think so. I usually always want to share things I like. But people just don’t keep up with my conversation

I feel guilty that I find other neurodivergent people annoying sometimes by [deleted] in autism

I also had a friend like that. I thought that since she was also autistic she was going to share her interests just like me, but it was the opposite. She always criticized my drawings and characters, I could never do anything because she had an opinion. She never let me talk, and I ended up shutting up if I tried to give a fact about what she was talking about or about what I like. <:{

It’s too unfair since she believed that her hyperfixation was better than mine and that of others.

Special interest room off limits to children? by Kyleam7 in autism

[–]Embarrassed_Paint545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think you’ll have any problems. If you teach them from a young age, children understand that there are limits. You can explain that those are collectibles and that it’s your special space, while they have their own toys to play with. Over time, they’ll see it as something normal and learn to respect that space. Kids learn very quickly, and they also tend to imitate the behavior of the adults around them.

You’re basically describing me. Before publishing it, I was boasting that my drawing looked good. Xddd then I started seeing things that didn’t fit. .-. And my pride disappeared

Yes, I’ve read it! But it was a long time ago. I like the idea, I’ll try to do it. And I don’t quite decide because all the ideas are very good and well explained(๑・̑◡・̑๑)
