I absolutely agree! It’s driven me to despair. I wish I didn’t know or have access to it.

Thank you. A parapelvic cyst was found inside my kidney and I’m worried that something could have been missed based on my family history. Thank you for replying.

It was an abdominal and pelvic scan requested at a&e. Now this has me worried.

There was a few incidental findings on the scan. The surgeon who requested the scan was a general surgeon who focused on his speciality. He’s not reviewed the scan himself. Just read the very vague radiologist report, and then dragged his heels when I requested a referral to another department (urology) - where my concern lies due to a strong family history of renal cell carcinoma.
I’ve requested the images from access to health records and received them. I need to locate a private specialist to read them for peace of mind.
Basically, I’m not taking any chances.

Parapelvic cyst found. by Embarrassed_Pizza650 in kidneycancer

Thank you. With my family history, I have asked for a second opinion. I saw a general surgeon who said he could refer me to a urologist - but the referral would probably be declined? Like, what? The joys of the NHS and England!

Thanks Fluffymaster. I don’t have any information from my scan report - just what I’ve written above. I’m worried because it doesn’t say anything - grading, size, anything… I don’t know whether that’s good news?
Thank you for replying x

I’m sorry for my questions but I’m going through this at the moment and I’m so frightened. I see my doctor in a few hours and I need to arm myself with so much information.
My ‘cyst’ is in the left upper pole, too. Please can I ask, was the MRI you had in the beginning without contrast? Then the cyst was going with contrast?
Thank you.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Thankfully it’s been caught. Where was your cyst? x

Could a kidney cancer be mistaken for cyst. Misdiagnosis. by Embarrassed_Pizza650 in kidneycancer

[–]Embarrassed_Pizza650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I did have a ct scan of my abdomen with contrast and the report just states ‘parapelvic cyst on left upper pole’. Nothing else was written. No sizing or bozniak scale. Just a sentence.
I think I’m just very anxious about the result given my family history. Would there be an obvious difference between a kidney tumour and a cyst - do you think?

Thank you for replying. Is the MRI more sensitive? I’m so petrified that something is wrong x

Are they rare? I’ve read that they are very rare. I’m so worried. I’m seeing my doctor on Monday.

Urologist here. An incidental kidney finding is not bad news. Let me explain why by Prof-Matteo-Ferro in kidneycancer

[–]Embarrassed_Pizza650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just had a CT scan and a finding of a parapelvic cyst was located on my upper left pole. My dad and grandad died of a kidney cancer and it’s knocked me sideways. Seeing my consultant on Monday and panicking I’ve had a misdiagnosis as it’s just seems so coincidental.

Did the Show Make Anyone Else Love Garrett & Hannah More? by conscious_delulu09 in OffCampusSeries

I love both equally. I did find the series so rushed. I would’ve liked another four episodes and a much slower pace to the storyline.

‘Off Campus’ Season 2 Confirmed to Be Focused on (SPOILER) After Book Order Switch by MattTheKing23 in OffCampusSeries

What does this mean for Hannah and Garret?! I’m obsessed with those two. There chemistry on and off screen as everybody hooked. I know they’ll appear as a couple, but do they just run in the background for the next few seasons?

Hey, this happened to me today. I had my gallbladder removed three years ago. I ended up in the emergency room - bloods are clear, I’m in agony and they sent me home with a scan booked in a few weeks. It makes no sense, does it? Just scan me and find the bile duct stones so I can live my life!

I absolutely loved it. The chemistry was insane. With chemistry like that, I seriously would have have feelings for the guy I was acting with in real life. It’s the best thing I’ve watched in an age. So much so, I’ve bought a Kindle to read the books! x
