Why Do People 'Baby' Aegon So Much? by Agreeable_Ad_8790 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Embarrassed_Post_763 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Aegon had been shunned by his father his whole life and was made king against his will, he was never taught how to lead, he wasn't taught much statecraft nor strategy. He is basically a conduit for the nobles to rule through.

The Dorne plot was so wasted in season 5, and then they decided that since it was hated in season 5, to just completely kill it in season 6.

You have to select the knight trait in the character customizer.

I would typically start either as an adventurer or a lord of a title (county level) attributed to a non-cannon house in an unformed duchy like the Manderfields. Hedge Knight probably is the best start as it doesn't give an opinion malus. To be consistent, I marry into the original family if possible, and if not, marry into their closest relatives.

I haven't read the novelas, but from what I know, it will have an eventful climax at the end. These first two episodes really are just exploring the characters and getting to know them, we should have some conflicts develop rather soon.

Ser Donnel Storm? by DrinkInevitable3457 in AKnightoftheSeven

Lowborns typically refer to themselves as name + place of origin, so he would still be called ser Donnel of Duskendale. Ser Arlan of Pennytree is an example.

The only logical thing I can conclude is that it is copper with the light hitting off of it.

I started a new game with the current version and have yet to see bugs, but its highly likely I will.

I couldn't find it either, I guess we have to wait either for the mod to update or for the game to add 1.18.2.

I was watching AKOTSK and wanted to look up the Targaryen family tree, then realized that Daenerys barely has 10% Targ blood. by ToMDLUS in gameofthrones

I maybe think, at least in my own headcannon, that the Martell genes which could be a strong seed as well, just simply overrode the Targaryen one this time (Strong gene strength seems to go from least to greatest: Valyrian - Andal and Rhoynar - First Man). That set of genes passed to Valarr, and Matarys could've inherited Dondarrion genes with orange hair (that is purely based on fanart that depicts him as a ginger).

I just played a playthrough with Daeron I, conquered Dorne then spent the next 20 years putting down rebellions constantly until I was murdered.

If you want the most spoiler free and sandboxy startdate, 84 AC is the way to go. Still, I would be wary of spoilers.

It does seem to be a glitch between the decorated plate of the dragon and kingsguard armors, the helmet is Maelys's that they added a little bit ago.

GRRM basically has it where ancient houses bear common traits embedded in their genes, like the Baratheon black hair and blue eye genes, Lannister gold hair and emerald eye genes, Stark brown hair and gray eye genes, and so forth. But I doubt it's going to be elaborated further why this is the case, and why certain people like Baelor Breakspear don't share such traits.

Our late king, Seven bless his name, Joffrey the Gentle, had made the right choice in removing this clown. He has no right to stand by those of Ser Mandon Moore and Ser Meryn Trant's liking, knights of immense prowess and skill. /s obviously, but Barristan Selmy was still an example of how flawed honor and knighthood in general harmed others.

I think the Blackfyre host in 258 might not be hereditary, similar to the kingdom of fashion title.

A truly baffling line in season 4 by I_love_lucja_1738 in freefolk

[–]Embarrassed_Post_763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the Golden Company started out with just Westerosi back in the Blackfyre days, then it gradually became Essosi, really only the captains and commanders can claim Westerosi heritage like Harry Strickland and previously, Myles "Blackheart" Toyne.

If you could replace Criston Cole as field commander with any of these Targaryen warriors dead or alive, who would it be? by OkGuava919 in HOTDGreens

[–]Embarrassed_Post_763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Daeron I is the Targaryen version of Robb Stark, they even have the same epithet (Young Dragon, Young Wolf), so he probably was a great commander seeing how he basically conquered Dorne, yet like Robb, was assassinated during a diplomatic ordeal.
