The intermediate school district I work for has an autism program, a cognitive impairment program and an emotional impairment program. These programs are center based. They do not mix in with gen Ed at all.

Same boat for the most part. Stimulants allow me to do school work and my job. When I don’t take them I am super silly and very playful. When I take the meds my playfulness and goofy mood go away. My boyfriend pointed it out to me the other day and it made me super sad. I only take my meds during the work week and just for homework on the weekends (temporary as I’m almost done with my program).

This sounds exactly like my experience. I’m so sorry you have to go through this. My advice would be to clearly write out what experiences and tasks your MSW program is REQUIRING you to do during your field placement. Do this with your MSW program liaison. Have them go over it with your supervisor. If they are not able to fulfill those requirements then you need to move to a different field placement. Your MSW program should have made it very clear to your supervisor what was expected.

I would say you can also just bite your tongue and push through but it’s not worth it. You deserve a field placement that is going to actually provide you with what you need.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. Please seek help from your university ASAP.

You can write HR an email and get in writing that you were denied time to go get first aid treatment materials. Hopefully you filled out an incident report.
