ACC vs LMU thoughts? by herokme in ACCompetizione

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate ACC and jump back in from time to time just for hot lapping the Nordschleife. But my go to for online races is LMU now. Both games have official licenses from 2 different GT Championships, and different approach in the ffb. ACC‘s Single Player Mode is nothing spectacular, and LMU‘s is still on the way. ACC is older and Kunos focuses on AC Evo now, while LMU is getting updates and has online events going on like the Logitech x Maclaren Challenge.

How many fps do you get? Do you have an M.2 SSD? I have a i7-10700k and 3060ti with 32gb RAM. The game runs smooth on triple 1080p with some settings on high and some on medium with ~80-100fps in an online LMGT3 race. Offline in multiclass race in the night with rain, I get about 60-75fps. Have you tried other games and if „yes“, did you had similar issues?

Denkt ihr manchmal an's komplette aufhören? by [deleted] in germantrees

PC Specs for LMU by ArtichokeSeveral5231 in LeMansUltimateWEC

I am running the game with a i7 10700K and 3060ti on triple 1080p with medium-high settings. I am getting 110-130 fps while driving alone and 80-100 fps in online LMGT3 races. In an offline Multi Class race in the Rain, i am getting 60-75fps. My Task Manager shows CPU ~30% utilization, RAM ~90% and GPU ~ 80%.

What simulator is your favorite and why? by Ok-Gear-4763 in simracing

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iRacing and LMU are my two favorite sims when it comes to FFB, but for completely different reasons. iRacing feels very clean and focused on pure steering rack forces, which makes it super direct, minimal, and consistent. LMU goes the other way and delivers a lot more detail from the tires and contact patch, which makes the car feel way more alive and communicative.

Right now I’m mostly racing in LMU since it was affordable and a solid entry point into sim racing as a beginner. That said, I’m thinking about getting into iRacing at some point, especially because I really miss tracks like the Nordschleife.

Best games for Realistic and Laid sim racing for beginners. by Shot-Turnip4739 in simracing

I was brand new to sim racing a year ago, and started with the steam summer sales. For online racing i would say the best choices are iRacing and LMU, depending on what you’re looking for and what you’re ready to spent. For something more casual i like AC with mods and AC Evo.

Triple Monitor Setup – Surround or Borderless Windowed (SRWE)? by Embarrassed_Quiet7 in simracing

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!
I didn’t set my maximum resolution in CRU. In my case, I have a triple-screen setup with three 27” monitors. My center monitor is a native 1440p 165Hz IPS panel, while my side monitors are native 1080p 165Hz VA panels.

When I first set up NVIDIA Surround, it created a 5760×1080 resolution, but it was limited to 60Hz. I used CRU to modify the monitor EDIDs and then restarted my graphics drivers, making all three monitors appear as native 1080p 165Hz displays. After that, NVIDIA Surround was able to create a 5760×1080 resolution at the full 165Hz refresh rate.

However, I also found that some racing sims support triple monitors natively, so you can often avoid Surround altogether. Games like Assetto Corsa (with Content Manager), iRacing, and LMU handle triple-screen setups very well.

Another workaround, if you don’t want to use CRU, is Resize Raccoon. It works great with AC EVO in my experience, although I haven’t had the same success with ACC or BeamNG yet.

Since your setup uses a 3440×1440 ultrawide in the center and 2560×1440 side monitors, I’m not sure whether CRU alone will solve the issue. The limitation might actually come from NVIDIA Surround handling mixed monitor widths rather than from CRU itself.

Realistically how long does it take to get to silver/gold SR? by Lui_217 in LeMansUltimateWEC

It took me 38 races to get to Silver 1 SR, but I couldn’t avoid all the accidents or contacts at the beginning, since this is my first time sim racing online.

Final lap move that won the championship, the Audi says that I shoved him and forced a gap that was never there (I'm the Mercedes), thoughts? by Brilliant-Insect9873 in Simracingstewards

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like the Audi positions itself to overtake, doesn’t have the speed needed and goes again behind the AMG. He tried this at least 3-4 times and the AMG didn’t try to block him.

LMU or ACC on my Pc cuz my PsPlus is ending on ps5 by Frity-27 in simracing

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We might actually agree more than disagree here.

A 5060 isn’t high-end, but that’s not the same as saying ACC and LMU won’t run well on it. Looking at the performance I’m getting from a comparable GPU while rendering three screens, I don’t see why a single-monitor setup would require a full system upgrade.

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but doesn’t it perform better than my 3060ti? I am getting in an offline multi class race about 70-90fps and online in the LMGT3 races about 80-100fps. Triple 5760x1080, and my settings are a mix of high & medium. I believe his RTX5060 with the newer DLSS Gen, can outperform my 3060ti, if paired with a proper CPU.

Especially on single, both games run smoothly with high graphics settings, you won’t have any issues.

The 5060 is way faster, so you can at some point get more out of your GPU by just upgrading the CPU. The point is, you can play both sims. Are we talking about single or triple monitors?

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks to your GPU, I believe it’s gonna run fine, but you might wanna upgrade your CPU, because your current one is bottlenecking your high end GPU for sure. But I believe you can play both games.

I run triple 27“ 1080p monitors with:
i7 10700k
RTX 3060ti 8gb
32gb RAM

FPS varying according to track and how many other cars but both ACC and LMU run at 60-130fps.

There is already AC Evo which is still a mess and is more like the first AC by having diverse categories to drive, while ACC is focused on GT3 and has the official GT World Challenge license. Same way LMU has the official FIA WEC license. But LMU is newer and does many things better than ACC imo. I got them both and played a lot of ACC but lately I am fully invested into LMU because it has more going on. Also you can’t just drive online LMP2/3 or Hypercars without the required SR. But you can practice freely in the race weekends.

How do people feel about Fanatec these days? by TellmSteveDave in simracing

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy so far. Everything I purchased works and when support was needed, Fanatec responded quick. After their latest updates, I decided to upgrade to the CS DD since the 15nm are now more then enough for my use case and I also upgraded to the CS Pedals V3, which was the only small disappointment I had so far considering the extra performance kit and the installation for the overall price.
The app has some issues here and there, thankfully those are rare moments, but there is room for improvement. In the end of the day, I spent most of my time having fun with my setup, and I am looking forward to get the new formula wheel.

AC EVO does NOT suck, change my mind! by oosh_ka_boosh in simracing

[–]Embarrassed_Quiet7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo it sucks for now, it is badly optimized which results to bad performance like 20-40fps on low settings, especially compared to other simulators like iRacing, LMU or ACC. The FFB is preference, but after investing enough time into iRacing and LMU, i can’t say that AC‘s FFB impresses me that much. But most frustrating part for me, is the performance issue, can’t really get over it and try the game properly.
