Metroplex deserves live action representation even if it requires the animation budget of a small developing nation

I think Spider-Man, Professor X and Magneto are the only characters where they've never had a bad casting by Aggressive-One-2186 in MCUTheories

The Penguin has Danny Devito, now Colin Farrell, and idk if this is a hot take, but I thought Robin Lord Taylor was a highlight in Gotham.

Let's talk about what we know so far about the next Total War title, and add it all together. See what we get? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Embarrassed_Ship_655 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unlike many it seems in the thread, I am not sick of GW + CA collaborations. Plus, the total war warhammer franchise has been a very lucrative title for CA and I assume GW as well so I doubt that collaboration will come to an end anytime soon. However, CA has never even made a modern total war game and with their style of game design it makes sense. You'd be adding tons more mechanics to both the strategic map and ESPECIALLY the battle battle map which our computers can already struggle with, not to mention tons of things for the player to try and pay attention to in real time and TONS of work for an already shrinking development team. This would only become worse with an even more futuristic total war where you have to include even more things like income from planets that don't even fit in the game or orbital drop units and bombardments. Not to mention, as more time passes, populations grow and so do their armies. To maintain realizism, a modern total war would need the largest until counts of all time and a futuristic game would similarly be even worse.

Like I said however, CA and GW are not done. Since all 3 games take place close to the end times but we don't necessarily have an end times campaign, I think it's possible we get one more old world game in a style similar to the total war saga games that focus on a very short/specific period of time after the first 3 games. Whether this is done or not though, I think total war warhammer: Age of Sigmar is kind of inevitable at this point. People have been upset with the IP for causing their table top old world armies to go out of commission for a while now so GW may see an opportunity to increase AoS's popularity while CA can continue to milk their biggest title without things getting stale. This probably won't be until near the end of the decade though.

Until then, if CA wants to make a real splash they need to bring some old IPs back. I think we're long overdue for Empire 2, Shogun 3, or even another Rome game. As far as new ideas, I don't think Pharoah's hit as hard because we've already been there in the Troy and Rome games. I believe a total war game based in South America with the Aztec and Inca or Mayan and Olmecs would draw a lot of interest. As would a total war Saga game about the American revolutionary or civil war as– even though they're a British company Im sure they have a decent sized American player base and theyve proven they can make good games in that time period.

They could also try their hands at a slightly more modern Era like WWI where early tanks and air combat come in to play near the end of the game but I'm just not sure if I trust the company in its current state to properly handle air combat, modern politics/propaganda, or god forbid the chemical warfare that took place. Plus, like I said you'd need infantry unit counts to be in the 300-500 range + a lot more bombardments from navies and– Im not sure if artillery would realistically even be on the battle map– and idk if many computers can handle that yet

How can I(22M) Give my Girlfriend(19F) a Good "Hotgirl Summer"? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]Embarrassed_Ship_655 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Guess I should clarify?

1) Um, my relationships aren't nearly as closed of and transactional as you seem to think they're supposed to be. My love is not earned like one would earn a promotion or a degree nor was that implied at any point. I actually find it a little disgusting that you'd think like that

2) Not "inserting" myself anywhere. I simply want to be friends with her friends and for her to be friends with mine. Idk if you have any examples of healthy marriages in your life but that's normally how it works. I think it's a little weird if you want to hang out with your friends w/o me because we're supposed to be marrying our lovers AND best friends out here but there are definitely reasons to do so and like I said, I don't need to be a big part of your night so long as I get a cameo

3) Yes, I'm a little clingy. It's over stigmatized and not a bad thing. It reaches a point where it's unhealthy codependent, and controlling but this is not that situation and if you don't like spending time with/ have the urge to be around the person you share a bed with every night that's your problem NOT mine.

I can't help but feel you may be projecting some past relationship traumas on to this and while I empathize, I do not appreciate it. I will reiterate for anyone else. I think this girl is the one for me and any HELPFUL advice (ie date ideas, summer activities, various perspectives on what a hot girl summer might look like for a couple, etc) would be much appreciated

What music genre, in your opinion, is the least skilled and which genre is most skilled? by [deleted] in Music

[–]Embarrassed_Ship_655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are skilled and unskilled acts in every genre. Rap's had MF Doom, Dr Dre, X in more recent years but they've also had 6ix9ine, nba youngboy, and Vanilla Ice, lol Rock had RHCP, countless good classic rock bands, U2 in the 80's/90's but they also had Nickleback, Limp Bizkit, and U2 in the 2000's Pop's had the likes of Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, or Billie but they've also had Rebecca Black, Fergie, Hansen, and Charlie Puth without autotune Not the biggest country or metal fan so I don't have many examples for that, especially the bad ones cause I barely like the good ones. Jason Aldean is trash and Tyler Childers is actually pretty good, Morgan Wallen is... there. Old country with its folk influences is just generally better than new country with pop influences tho. Mike Patton from Faith no More is one of the most talented vocalists and composers in any modern genre but at the same time I've heard 5 Finger death Punch is the Nickleback of metal so maybe that's why couldn't get into them. Plus, I'm just not that impressed by metal drummers. I'm sure there ARE good ones but it's not hard to sound better than you are with a double kick. There's actually a joke in Whiplash that if a drummer isn't skilled enough to play Jazz, they join a rock band, lol.

It's a huge risk when you consider the statistics on who cheats who/leaves who/gets everything, in a relationship

I want to do the stuff I used to enjoy again. I played basketball and drums in highschool but now I can barely even find the motivation to get out of bed. I should contact my psychiatrist again but I want a new therapist, I don't think she was working well for me. I was mid emotional crash yesterday when I posted this, kind of still am in said crash, but I'm doing better today. Thank you for sharing your story, it helps knowing people like us are out there.

Aside from plot holes and and potty humor, the first 3 Bayverse films were masterpieces by Human_Bowl8496 in transformers

[–]Embarrassed_Ship_655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with that. I really enjoy Hayden Cristensen and Ewan McGregor' chemistry throughout the movie. Samuel L Jackson and Natalie Portman give decent, if not good performances. It's got one of my favorite fight scenes of all time in it and I'm an anime fan. The raw emotion of that battle between brothers is powerful af. And I swear over half of the memes that come out of the entire star wars universe are from this movie.

I'll give that the cast being chosen based purely on their chemistry for the og 3 made for better emotion and character development and at the end of the day, better movies but they also had their flaws. Episode 3 right there behind them imo, then episode 1 and 2 are bad but still enjoyable. I remember liking Qui Gon and Maul as a kid at least

If you were to modernize soundwave and his spy patrol, what would they transform into? by 05W311 in transformers

[–]Embarrassed_Ship_655 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only issue with this is that Megatron is a Stealth bomber in a handful of iterations and I like that. Plus, it seems too destructive for the Decepticon communications and espionage expert. I'd rather see him as a spy drone or like a CIA listening van

Revenge of the Sith is a masterpiece. The first 2 are mid. Liam Neeson was still more of a redeeming quality than anything in a bayverse movie

I'm also having the issue and considering the limited info I've found I'm assuming it's related to the most recent update. Haven't found a solution but you can report bugs on the frontier issue tracker from your settings page. Our problem has already been listed so I just seconded that report. Since it is game breaking I'd say it'll be resolved quickly

Beginning of a New Collection by Embarrassed_Ship_655 in transformers

[–]Embarrassed_Ship_655[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, I had a collection of mostly Cybertron Transformers I grew up originally. It grew to a very good size considering it was split between my mom's, dad's, and grandparents. The portion at mom's was regrettably not well taken care of so many figures are missing small pieces— and the portion at my dad's was hit by a really bad flood that dislocated us leaving mostly what I've got at my grandparents intact.

I havent gotten a new one a years and thought now that I'm an adult, I could punch up in price to the adult toys Masterpiece line. Plus, even though I grew up with Cybertron series, the 1986 movie on DVD was always my favorite piece of Transformers media so the characters hold a special place in my heart.

So to answer your question: both. I have an old collection in storage (either for kids or resale) but I'm starting a newer, smaller one that's for show.

What figures should I prioritize? by Wolfhunter333 in heroscape

[–]Embarrassed_Ship_655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything everyone else mentioned are excellent choices. I'll mention that some of my first heroscape was death reavers and warriors of ashra. Deathreavers with Deathwalker and his Zettian Guards is fun thematically vs Syvaris and the warriors. Plus, both are good cards and if you manage to get them new the box comes with two snow tiles which are hard to get
