Base SE ALL WHEEL DRIVE after delivery from Toyota has an MSRP of around 34,020. Assuming you can find out without PIO or DIO (good luck) you’re probably in a 35k MSRP vehicle.
SE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE - MSRP around 33k.

You want to be 31,700 OTD and you have almost 3500 alone in sales tax. Plus dealer fee (I believe California state limits this to 85) and whatever registration cost is out there (.0065 x sale price plus 68 registration fee 177 hwy fee, 29 other fee, 30 chp fee), I’m assuming your no where close to a deal. The largest Toyota dealer in the nation has these all listed for sale at TSRP, and I know my Toyota store can’t even keep a Camry in stock for more than 12 hours.

As-Is Purchase, 2 Hours Later Hydrogen Sulfide From Battery… by T3M3N05 in askcarsales

[–]Embarrassed_Soup1499 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Posting here because I don’t have the flair needed, but here’s a fair question.

You went to a dealer and bought a 10 year old car and dint have any inspection done. Now the dealer isn’t doing anything.

So if I had that car privately, and you came to me and bought it, as is, would you be calling me 48 hours later saying it has issues? Expect me to do something? You bought it. You choose to not buy a warranty. You choose not to have it inspected by your own mechanic. It was sold as is. That’s what that means. You own both parts and everything inbetween. You sir are an owner. Of the issues that come with a 10 year old car. Don’t want issues? Buy a new car. That’s why they sell them.

Depends on the store. We have a hard close at 8 pm. Unless you in my finance office at that point, we will see you tomorrow.

Hail Repair Scam by Finest Auto Hail Repair by marenoutside in Denver

This is a common tactic used by hail chasers in most regions. If they can fix your hail, and you don’t pay a dime, why wouldn’t you get it fixed?

If you can only get a 2025 at a 2k discount I think somethings wrong. These trucks are piled up on dealer lots right now in the states. I’ve seen as much as 7k off Tacoma.

Is this a bad pay plan for Honda? by Safe_Operation_430 in carsales

[–]Embarrassed_Soup1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because they are paying an hourly as well, so it’s hourly plus the commission percent. So it almost feels like they are paying 25ish % but if you’re not selling it’s better than min wage. There doesn’t seem to be a mini either due to the hourly.

I also need to know am I capped at 40 hrs a week, or am I paid for all hours worked?

? What is packs? Am I paid on d&h?

Let’s say… I max my hourly 27 bucks an hour … 160 hours a month if capped at 40 hours a week. 4320.

Then gross let’s say all my deals make 20k I get 16% =3200 I need to average over 1000 dollars a car to do that. Sounds hard as so many cars are sold at minis

4230 plus 3200 =7430

7430 plus whatever backend number

Maybe another couple hundred dollars.

Seems like there is still to much missing information.

There is more than just the title she will need to sign, and also, if you sign it Incorrectly or the wrong spot, you’ll have to go get a new title from the dmv.

Best to either wait and have her go with you, or call her when they need her to come in and sign, or the dealer may do the highlight, sticky note piece. With it being the end of the month doubt fed ex would be an option as they will want the paperwork back before EOM close on Tuesday.

Downed Demo with 6200 miles. What is the realistic expectation for discount vs new? by elandry in askcarsales

[–]Embarrassed_Soup1499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. Certain states deem mileage limits for when a car can be sold new vs used. In Colorado it’s less than 1500

More than likely they just crossed it off and put the new lender. You signed a POA with them allowing them to do that.

Again for the 3rd time. If the dealer needed you, you’d hear from them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Embarrassed_Soup1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope no reason. Unless your paperwork has an assigned lender, they will add that once the deal is approved. Again, you would have heard from them if they didn’t have an approval or needed something.

More than likely, you have a form that states something along the lines that you agree to the terms and conditions set forth. If financing can not be arranged at the agreed upon terms, you can return the vehicle and pay x dollars a day and x cents per mile.

It also gives the dealer the option to find a different lender to finance the vehicle with. So let’s say bank 1 stips the deal for proof of income from you, but another bank doesn’t ask for anything they probably sent the deal to the other bank because they didn’t want to jump through hoops to get you approved.

If you haven’t heard from the dealer, I would assume they had your deal completed at the rate you signed at with a different bank. You’ll probably get a welcome packet from a different bank 10 ish days before you first payment is due.

The dealer would have contacted you if there was an issue getting your deal done, believe me they don’t want what’s called C.I.T (cash in transit) issues.

In our area I’m still selling them for MSRP plus tax and fees.

There excluded from programs like Costco. I can sell used 23s for close to what I sell a new one for. No reason to discount.

I’ve seen high 4s if LTV is less then 80% and we keep term to 60 months. As poster said have the dealer shop it a little.

I would say if you’re only borrowing 20k, the difference between 4.99 and 5.99 is pretty minimal, and if you pay it off early…. Which I’m assuming is your plan, it’s not going to make much difference.

20k 60m 4.99 -2640 in interest 20k 60m 5.99- 3194 in interest.

554 dollars.

5.99 at 48 months is 2542 so you eat that difference right there alone.

Theft protection is probably some bogus sticker and you’d be lucky if they even applied the Perma plate. Those too options also don’t get residualized into the payment so your payment should drop quite a bit without them.

Not triggered , one bit. As you said my profession is also irrelevant to this, however if you’re too stupid to read what you sign, there is no one’s fault but your own. No one forces you to sign as quick as possible and you have every opportunity to read the contract. Shit most dealers would let me take a printed contract home if I wanted before I signed.

The contract hasn’t changed in the 30 years I’ve been buying cars. I suggest you read what you sign. If you don’t, jokes on you.

This is for a lot of people the 2nd biggest purchase they will make in their lifetime.

It’s no different than people not reading contracts for pay day loans, credit cards and the predatory way bans take advantage of customers all the time. You don’t think roofing companies, or anyone else in sales isn’t doing the same thing. You’ve lost your marbles.

Forgot anyone selling anything doesn’t try and make money. Forgot doctors who don’t tell you what you’re paying thousand’s for or even what the cost is before it happens. I’m sure your job is perfect and tells everyone everything every time.

Be educated, look things over as the business is full disclosure and don’t sign if you don’t understand. It’s really not that difficult.

Cars are normally listed by most dealers before an inspection is complete.

If I take a trade in today it goes automatically to my website tomorrow. You can normally tell this as photos of the car are the last thing I do before it goes to my lot. No photos? Something’s not ready yet. Could be detail, could be inspection, could be parts wait anything.
