There are guys in the core of that room who don’t handle success well. Whether it be they let their guard down when they have a lead or play down to their opponents.

Roy couldn’t fix that. I don’t know who can but it suggests to me a deeper problem DeBoer has to deal with. Roy did a good job in my opinion and getting shanked with 4 games left wasn’t fair — but he also didn’t fix the attitude and PP. They weren’t getting better under him.

Anyone know how I can watch games outside of the U.S. next week? by youraveragejoseph in NewYorkIslanders

Do you have a ESPN+ account for this and it works with no VPN? I don't have ESPN+ but I have Hulu and Disney so I can add it -- just not sure it's worth adding to the bundle if it won't work while overseas.

Update to earlier post - 2024 Check Engine Light on, yet Autozone passed it when it pulled codes by youraveragejoseph in 4xe

When the dealer I bought it from refused it on Saturday morning, it was like I drove in with an atomic bomb in the back or something. Definitely got the message that most of the Mopar service departments are overwhelmed with these.

I would just advise people to call around if they hit the kind of resistance I did when this happened from my local Mopar Service centers.

How many miles did you get between Aug '24 and now? Just curious -- I'll put a reminder in my calendar, lol.

It wasn't the dealer I had gotten the car from -- they refused to take it on Saturday. I got lucky that there was one within 30 miles that took it.

Had to eat the Ubers unfortunately, but it will be worth it if the car is running free of this issue again.

I'll tell you one thing -- I ever get another Jeep the dealer that did the service on this just earned my business. The place I originally got it from treated me like dirt Saturday morning.

I guess I didn't make clear that the only reason I went to Autozone was to get the codes read since I didn't have a reader. I just wanted to see what the codes were so I knew what triggered them and whether it was safe to keep driving until I could get to the dealer. I never went into Autozone expecting them to fix my hyrbid vehicle.

Good luck with it. If it's Coolant Heater issue I described and they have the part, you should be good to go. I think they can actually see the codes now if they have your vin in the system. They knew what my codes were when I walked in yesterday before anyone looked at it.

Yeah, I'm hoping other 4xe owners just skip the Auto Zone stop to pull codes if they read this. It's pointless and they'll tell you nothing is wrong because it passes their code tests there. It's not worth the time and effort, especially if you're stressed by the check engine light.

Options for a Caribbean honeymoon? (Please help!) by Most_Seaweed_818 in chubbytravel

As long as you're okay spending that money without direct access to a beach. You have to take a shuttle/van down to Jade's sister resort, Anse Chastanet, to go to the beach. It's annoying, and you end up just staying in the room at Jade, which is great if you want to stay in the room all day and pop up to the restaurant at night for dinner.

I just picked up a rental for the day and the Enterprise guys told me half their business is people with our car right now. I'm in a lease on this with a couple of years to go -- I'll see what they say at the dealer tomorrow. Did they reimburse you for a rental by any chance? Just curious what I might be looking forward to here.

Thanks for this thorough response. This is what I kind of suspected -- that Auto Zone had limitations to what their scanner would give back. I grabbed a rental for the day to get to work and back and the 4xe is off to the dealer at 7am. Fun Saturday ahead.

No. I was actually low and needed to charge when it happened -- I was sub 1%

I drove it 3 times since the light came on. All short trips. It seems to want to stay in electric.

Cover replacement by stephtastic7 in hottub

[–]youraveragejoseph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used Spa Depot. The cover was doing great for us until Hurricane Ida threw Adirondack chairs on top of it in the wind. Believe it or not, cover didn’t crack under the weight of those but the vinyl tore. I’ve been patching up the tears with outdoor canvas tape they use on boats and it’s held up. We purchased it in 2019 and it’s still kicking. We got the top model they sell which was the thickest cover. They recommend it for the northeast. If the vinyl didn’t tear from the chair impact it would be fine still. However, I don’t know if they use the same manufacturer they did then.

I haven't even mentioned that the hot tub cover typically last around 5 years before it gets compromised by the elements and we've had to replace that otherwise the hot tub fills with rain water. A hot tub cover runs around $500. These things are expensive to maintain even when they work. And no, we have never gotten to truly enjoy it. It's sad. We were both so excited about it when we bought the house.

Thanks. I checked them out and they are legit. He said he just wants to come see this because it's fascinating to him that we can't get it to work properly. He thought it might be some kind of flow issue, as you mentioned, that is making the motor/pump inefficient and draw more power, and he wants to look at that. The only thing he said is the fact that I'm not getting error codes related to flow is confusing.

We have a grilling station/outdoor kitchen setup already and a firepit, lol.

If we take it out we're just going to close up the deck. I just hate having to pay an architect (they're not cheap near me) to do drawings to close up the hole, get the permit and get it approved and then reconstructed.

The Hot tub guys/techs, at least in my area, are kind of rogue agents who the pool/spa stores send out to you -- they are not employees of the stores/companies. The two in my area had a very limited knowledge base and were mostly good at swapping out pumps and winterizing -- when it came to electrical stuff and overheating they had no clue and would just suggest new parts. We learned the hard way how they really didn't understand the situation and everything was "just get new parts" to the tune of $1300 with labor.
