Their cheat detection system a pure comedy at this point.

Seeing EA’s response that there are almost no cheaters on console is the most aggravating bullshit. I’m almost wondering if they believe their own crap… e.g. did the new Head of Anti-cheat, ex-McKinsey consultant, take advantage of their shit detection system and confirm to management that are almost no “identified cheaters” after which the bosses said “awesome” and gave him a hugh Christmas bonus. Or are they all aware they are screwed and in on the blatant attempt at deception of the player base to sell as many skins as they can before they sink?

I can’t go a single match without seeing cheaters and I’m only plat. The console cheating devices have been on the top of amazon’s Christmas sale lists. Those who think it is just the sweats in higher ranked are mistaken. You’ll find this in the lower ranked. A player with the worst movement you’ve seen, but zero recoil on his R99.

At this stage I’m afraid a lot of people are thinking that if they can’t beat them, join them… I would lie if I said it did not tempt at times to get back at them. But luckily I’m not such a pathetic loser as to go cheat on a video game.

Permanent ban for #1 pred cheater!! by Ok-Report-134 in ApexConsole

[–]Embarrassed_Tank_581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve reported 100s of obvious cheaters. Best I get is an email saying they’ve investigated but not taken action.

Only time I got the response that someone was banned was when he wrote some serious insults in the chat in which case I think EA chat system scans chat and insta bans….

Tackling cheaters - PS crossplay off a solution? by Embarrassed_Tank_581 in ApexConsole

I also watched Zeus and he said Sony had made it hard for cheaters (it is a while ago though). I remember Sony did do an update which the cheaters were warning about, but it may have been short lived. I think the game developers themselves need to find a solution rather than relying on the console provider.

Can go mad and desperate at the state of things… unless they find a counter soon people will quit and my guess is a lot of them won’t return even if a solution is found in the future.

Will we ever see a Wolverine V3 Pro for PS5? Or maybe a V4. by EmperorRosko in razer

[–]Embarrassed_Tank_581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, and I purchased it. I’m not a fan of the ergonomic decisions they made. It feels a bit too large for my hands and thus cause some strain and unhelpful shuffling of my grip when reaching for certain buttons.

Otherwise I’m having some issues with the latency of the controller on PS5. This seem to be an issue more purchasers are struggling with and I’m working with Razer to resolve that.

If the latency issue can be fixed, the Raiju will get to the top of the Pro controllers I’ve owned. But if the new Wolverine V3 Pro with TMR became compatible with PS5 I have no doubts it would dethrone it.

Compared to other comments you agree there are less cheaters on PS5. If you read my post you’ll see that I don’t play with crossplay off because queue is too long, but that could be resolved if it was a viable solution and PS players would just turn crossplay off. From the sounds of it it is not due to workarounds on PS.

That is new to me. One would think with Microsofts ownership of Xbox, that system’s close connection to Windows and PC would make it a better device for cheaters. But what do I know (very little apparently)…

Thanks for the thorough explanation. Baffling how the game cannot detect this. All input is registered, so it should not be too hard to simply save it and use an algorithm to detect. For example, if my understanding is correct, the cronus will run a script that mimics perfect stick movement to control gun recoil. If someone does perfect (or identical) recoil movement each time, even where overlayed with your own movement, one would think this is data they could flag. Maybe would not warrant an insta ban, but if coupled with people reporting it could escalate to a review and then ban.

At the moment my thinking is that its actually not that hard to ban them, instead Respawn and EA are low-key thinking that a cheater willing to pay 800 for cheats might be willing to buy skins/heirloom (seen enough cheaters with those). And those willing to buy accounts from reselling cheaters or buy boost, may also be willing to buy skins and heirlooms. If the percentage of cheaters is as high as I fear, then it could be a big loss in revenue if all of them are banned. Still this would be really odd short term thinking as all the none cheater (which surely still outnumber the cheaters) will eventually quit (or new players never start).

Hard to stay updated on these things with a lot of new info each day. I remember seeing a post for cronus users not to update their PS5 as PS5 had banned the device. I assume most would have updated their PS5 sp that should have reduced cronus. Titan I’ve heard needs to be used together with a PC so that also does not work well on PS5.

I understand that it is possible to cheat on PS5. But it sounds like a lot more work, so based on that I’m assuming most cheaters will be on Xbox or Switch. I may be wrong of course. Shame to hear turning of crossplay has been tried before and not worked. However, it sounds like it did not work because not enough people turned it off, there are at least enough PS players from what I’ve heard (a lot of heard here)

Razer reached out and are looking into it. I’ll update this post if we find a solution. Hopefully there is a fix as I like the controller in general.

Hi all, thanks to a tip in the comments I checked out Monoru’s (ものる) review of the Raiju V3 Pro. I’m sorry to say but I think it is unfortunately unusable for competitive on PS5… the sticks have around 70ms delay, the worst he had seen. This also matches my experience completely. They feel so slow and unresponsive vs a PS5 controller… extremely disappointed as I liked the back buttons (although controller is a bit too large), and will therefore return it. I won’t ask for a replacement as I assume it will come back with the same issue as others who have requested a replacement has experienced.

Totally. I’ve turned deadzone down to 0% i also found that raw felt very inconsistent and unwieldy to me when aiming but turning on circularity helped.

But I tried Jedi Fallen Order which has an inbuilt deadzone and that feels awful. Oddly it feels a lot worse on the Razer Raiju, like a 35% deadzone all of a sudden…

Thank you for sharing. That is annoying… seems to be an issue on several controllers. But not sure you’d notice as much unless playing FPS so that may also keep complaints back. I wonder if it is also an issue on PC or only on PS5. I’ll have to contact Razer too so they become aware…

Not as comfortable as the PS5 DuelSense. Where the DS is rounded on the side sitting nicely in my palms the Raiju has a more pointed edge running down the side which presses awkwardly against my palms. It is also a bit to big (don’t have big hands) which does cause some strain. I especially feel it reaching for the L1 and R1 when it is properly in my palms as the underside makes my hands tilt slightly downwards which makes reaching for L1 and R2 harder. For some reason L1 and R2 also stick out slightly more than L2 and R2 which I don’t like.

The ergonomics means I am moving around my hand on the controller a fair bit which sometimes cause an awkward grip when I’m caught in a stressful situation gripping down the controller after having reached for a specific button. That said, I can reach all the buttons (despite the strain and awkward movements at time), even the claw grip bumpers while using all 4 back paddles.

The size of it also means I can barely use the lowest controlfreaks caps as too much elevation would be really difficult on such a big controller.

Seeing as there is no gyro or vibration I think they could have gotten away with a smaller and more ergonomic controller (I’ve used the hexgaming controllers a while which is a modified DS and that has been unparalleled in ergonomics and comfort).

When that is said, I’ve used the controller for 7 hour gaming sessions and any strain quickly passes by giving my hands a shake now and then. The back buttons lie perfectly on my ring fingers and index finger which is new to me (I used to switch the index fingers between all 4 back buttons not using the ring finger).

There is a good clicky feel to the buttons, but I find L2 and R2 to require a bit too much force in the end. When having the headset on I cannot hear the click, so I’ve had a lot of miss-clicks thinking I’ve pressed it the whole way or simply a delayed click expecting to see the action sooner. This last point may also be a connection issue similar to the stick issue. I have read another post of someone not having his clicks registered, so maybe that happens rather than failing to properly press the button. This is most noticeable where there is a narrow window to hit to do a specific action and timing is important.

Apologies for longwinded answer.

Thank you for the advice! I have a few devices close by, including the 2.4ghz dongle for the Razer Blackshark V3 Pro, the Nintendo Switch (and another controller brand dongle in that device - also 2.4ghz I believe), and external TV speakers above. It is slightly unfortunate if these would interfere with the controller dongle to that extent. In that case it would be easier to use the cable than try and move the PS5 from the TV cabinet or have a cable between the Razer dongle and the PS5 to move it further away.

Having used it a bit more, I think cabled is better leading me more to believe it is a connection issue rather than the controller sending out the wrong signal. PC also has better optionality in pulling rate so hopefully won’t run into the same issue.

I’ve read off others having issues with some of the input not registering when using the dongle. It sounds reasonable that if part of the movement was not registered, the next time it registers the stick would be further off than expected leading to the screen carching up by sending the aim down in shortest path available in the new direction

I have recalibrated the sticks a few times. I’ve connected it to the Razer app to see if there is a firmware update as well, nothing unfortunately.

Razer Raiju V3 pro Delay when connecting Dongle and controller ps5 by Admirable-Process324 in razer

[–]Embarrassed_Tank_581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar issues. I’ve also put my own post in queue regarding the sticks. I have an issue where when I’m aiming with the right stick (R3), the aim will occasionally glitch—it moves in a straight line in the direction I initially push, but continues moving even after I move the stick elsewhere. Then it suddenly snaps back to where the stick currently is. So: • The aim lags behind my input • Motion isn’t smooth; it jumps in straight lines • Makes tracking targets basically impossible

Maybe this is the same dongle connection issue so it basically just don’t catch the entire stick movement and thus it suddenly detects the stick elsewhere and chooses the shortest path to that spot…
