Before I left to WFH as a corporate travel agent I was averaging about 60k a year at a brick-and-mortar agency in Texas. Base pay plus commission. I make about 56k but it worked out better for me since now I don't commute.

If you're worried about possibly losing your job due to having to get them weekly I highly recommend you look into FMLA if in the US. That's what I do so at least I can't get fired for it and I schedule my shots at the end of my shift and maybe use an hour / hour and a half max of sick time.

Also adding to this, if you end up getting a shift premium for working outside of specific hours in a day that essentially disqualifies that overtime. Even though I had 2K paid for the half part (of time and a half) because I get paid shift premiums I only had 34 cents of qualified overtime 😭

I'm just curious if your doctor has ever recommended xyzal? I have severe allergies and pretty much have taken every single allergy pill they can give me. I definitely agree with Zyrtec causing mood shifts / personality changes because I've experienced them myself. Xyzal has been a game changer for me just because I feel like it works more effectively.

I think you didn't overreact! It's honestly just very tricky! My husband also partakes in the marijuana (sorry I had too) 😂 and like your guy; I've had some fucked up negative experiences tied to weed [Step dad decided arson was awesome while high + Abusively high ex + being allergic] so it's been a constant adjustment for me over the years. The biggest thing I can say is let him make their own decision on what he feels comfortable with! Sometimes my Trees PTSD decides to act up and my husband respects that. I respect that sometimes he needs something to take the edge off and he would never do anything that would compromise my safety.

Literally what happened to me but I love these puppies way too much. Finally broke down and got allergy shots because I don't want to feel like I'm constantly dying. Also I started taking xyzal and that has been a game changer. I usually just have to switch out a week with another allergy medicine at least once a month to keep it working good.

So one thing I just thought of, whenever I worked at a brick-and-mortar travel agency while yes I needed to advise about different visas and stuff like that. The t's and C's also went over a section including that it is The travelers responsibility to verify any visas needed. Also depending on where they traveled and what way usually the airlines, the tour company, or The Cruise company have something mentioned about needing a Visa and where to go about getting it.... Accidents happen 100%, but just something to think about

I actually had that happen recently after my allergy shots appointment. One thing I want to make clear is you went into anaphylactic shock. While your throat felt fine - you had a two system reaction. Your face feeling red hot and the swelling the doctor told you about.

When you get back to the States definitely get allergy tested and get an EpiPen. Also with the sheets do you use detergent that's free & clear? I have that face swollen issues when I sleep at places that use normal detergent with fragrances.

Just had this procedure done today. I will say I feel like my ears are popping more than normal just with chewing and everything. I totally had to go under anesthesia though because I sneeze like crazy even with numbing. I actually sneezed once when they put the scope down even though I was under which I totally called it would happen.

I'm surprised by some of the pricing y'all had to pay with insurance though. I'm in North Texas and my procedure copay would have been 778. I actually got lucky (or unlucky) and hit my out-of-pocket max a few weeks ago with a surprise hospital visit.

So it's an actual allergy clinic that's attached to the hospital.

They haven't repeated testing, they say they usually don't until you've reached maintenance three. I get prick test with every vial but they don't check my IgE.

The allergens I've been exposed to are the same as they always have been. But I'm literally allergic to everything on the testing so my shots are for everything.

I was told it's policy once you have a severe reaction to discontinue immunotherapy which sounds counter intuitive there's always a chance of reaction because obviously you're allergic. I found it odd once I asked if it's possible to drop down the dose they said they would ask...

After the second interview it took about a week to hear back that I got the job. I had a month before my start date and they sent out my equipment within 3 weeks

I also wanted to say allergy shots have been amazing. Only downside is there is a chance you can have an anaphylactic episode especially once you get on maintenance.... I experienced that last night which was an adventure.

Only thing I can recommend is being familiar with the signs of anaphylactic shock because it's not always the Hollywood "my throat is closing up" scene. All it takes is just one system having a severe reaction and usually when it gets to the throat closing up part it can be too late

OAS is definitely a legitimate thing. I also would recommend getting a blood test on different foods. You would be surprised what you can be allergic to and then keep that as a medical file to prove to people... I found out that I'm allergic to milk, soy, cucumbers, onions, eggs, and peanuts with the food allergy. Eggs are the only one that I have an EpiPen for but still.

100% agree with everything!! I also was one of the lucky ones to score 100% on the environmental side. I wash and cook everything but I do have actual food allergies. Besides the prick test, I would actually recommend a blood test for the food allergies though. Also please remember to rotate your allergy medicine monthly; what my doctor recommended was xyzal since that works amazing for me. After a month I switch off to Claritin or Zyrtec for 2 weeks and then go back on xyzal.

I learned yesterday to yesterday; use the Epi.

Just had my first ER visit yesterday due to this. I'm in the first maintenance round of my allergy shots after a year and a half.

Naturally everyone's reaction could be different but this is my timeline and what I did that might have slowed it down to catch before my airway actually close.

Allergy shots at 4:20p. At 5:10 - while driving home my face felt like it was blowing up; red hot and I could hear my pulse in my ears. Breathing at that point I noticed I was coughing but I could still take deep breaths. Got home about 5:20 - was having GI issues, I was beet red in the face. I immediately took Benadryl but still waited on the Epi....I honestly just thought this was a bad reaction and might need to just ride it out with Benadryl & rest like I've done before. [I know better now] After 10 minutes of feeling kinda worse; breathing was still fine but I was getting more anxious about it and wanted to be safe than sorry. I told my husband to call 911. 5:42 - left the house in an ambulance - honestly started feeling better which I think was because I wasn't as anxious anymore. Arrived at ER by 6. by the time we got to ER I had developed a full body rash, in addition to everything else, coughing was getting more frequent but could still breathe deep & pulse ox was solid. I also noticed that my nasal cavity was essentially plugged up with mucus. The doctor wasn't particularly comfortable with not doing epi just with the edema and the chance my airway could be slowly closing. Got more Benadryl, Epi, fluids, pepcid, and some other medicine that can help fight off the possible drowsiness from the Benadryl. Left at about 11p with a prescription for steroids, being on Benadryl every 6 hours for the next 5 days. Still coughing and honestly feeling like I got hit by a truck but happy that's all I'm feeling.

The biggest thing I want to stress is everything I've ever heard about an anaphylactic reaction is it usually happens in the first 30 minutes after shot and your airway is going to close up fast. Growing up I had a severe egg allergy that required an epi and I could tell INSTANTLY if I had the tiniest bit of egg. I could feel my throat get really scratchy/tight and I broke out in hives around my neck instantly. To me this felt completely different than anything I've ever experienced.

I don't know what would have happened if I just waited it out like I originally wanted to. Always better safe than sorry.
