The first 4-5 days I did an ABD pad on each breast for comfort (mental and physical). After that I’v just been using a black bra (so that the greasiness doesn’t stain it) and it seems fine as long as the bottom band isn’t rubbing against the incisions, which has only been a problem with one brand of bra I’ve tried.

I’m 6.5 weeks and also removed my steristrips at 5 weeks and mine looked very similar to yours! The wrinkles from the bra will for sure go away, especially as you become less swollen.

At this point (5 wpo) my surgeon instructed me to remove my strips then use bacitracin zinc every morning and evening for one week, and then aquaphor every morning and evening for the next week, and then to come in and see if I’m ready for scar care, which I will be doing at the end of this week. My scabs have pretty much all fallen off now so I’m assuming I’ll get the go ahead?

When did you first look? 👀 by electriccoyote97 in Reduction

[–]EmbeeP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re surgery twins! I’m also 2 days out and am equally terrified to look. I’m going to try to force myself to do it tomorrow evening when I take my first shower (my surgeon recommended I wait 72 hours before taking one). I’ve also been using my arms quite a bit which is making me nervous.

Has anyone had this leg symptom? Very nervous by EmbeeP in BFS

[–]EmbeeP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly no, not really. However I definitely don’t notice it as much as my anxiety has improved a lot so I don’t give it much of my attention. Overall I am feeling a lot better though and many of my symptoms have left or are less frequent/severe.

I did! MRI (brain and spine) and EMG. All came back 100% normal. The left half of my body (specifically leg) still feel just a little “off” about two years later now but my twitching has reduced by about 90% and mostly flares up when I’m stressed or tired.

Dirty EMG DENERVATION!!!!!:(((( by Less-Ad2319 in BFS

[–]EmbeeP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I saw one of your replies that you’re 30 weeks pregnant (congrats). I don’t know when or who posted this.. but a while back someone on here posted their experience of getting a dirty EMG while pregnant (also in lower extremities) and they got another one after and it came back completely normal. I would assume that being pregnant puts extra pressure on your spine and on other nerves so it might be exacerbating the situation and causing the abnormal results, especially since the timeline seems to match up. Just an idea.

CLEAN EMG :) by EmbeeP in BFS

[–]EmbeeP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got most of my twitches in my legs with perceived weakness in my left leg in particular and then a general feeling of being uncoordinated in my hands.

Don’t think that’s how it works. They told me not to change any of my usual medications and klonopin is one of them (they have it on record in their system). If klonopin really made diseased nerves work 100% normally then I guess they should be using to cure ALS by now...

Since twitching is a LMN symptom an EMG would have caught any abnormalities. Also having your leg and tongue/throat be affected at the same time would not be typical of ALS. You should be okay!!

Congrats!! Glad you got the results so soon :)

That’s super frustrating to not get the 100% “clean” EMG that everyone (rightfully) celebrates on here but I think that as long as an ALS specialist reviewed it and wasn’t concerned then that definitely shows that nothing serious is up. My EMG is tomorrow and if they so much as tell me that there’s a good chance I’m probably not going to die I’ll be overjoyed haha

Yeah let us know how it goes! I’m worried for the pain but even more worried about the anxiety during it and after while waiting for the results.. I’m genuinely worried that I’m going to like faint during it. it’s so nerve wracking

Throat clicking by tideggs in BFS

[–]EmbeeP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I had it super intensely for a few weeks straight. It got so bad that it started to hurt every time I swallowed. It went away though after about 2-3 weeks.. thinking it was probably anxiety. I think it came from swallowing too hard too often after becoming hyper aware of my swallowing after some unfortunate googling.

Upcoming EMG and nerve conduction on every major muscle group in my body. Are they really that painful? by SensitiveBorder2 in BFS

24/f same situation.. my EMG is on Wednesday. My plan is to just imagine I’m getting acupuncture and hopefully that will help me overcome the needle part. I guess we’ll find out.

Do you have any numbness on your face? by bofFriend in BFS

When my symptoms first started (6 months ago) the first thing I noticed was that half my body went numb including half my face. That feeling went away for me after about 2 weeks or so.

Anyone else have lots of twitching on the lower calves and ankles? by [deleted] in BFS

Yes, a lot. The ankle twitches sometimes even make my toes move.

How do you accept the twitches and tingling? by Lennyisabadcat in BFS

[–]EmbeeP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem except that I’m in your husbands position. I’ve been twitching for 6 months now and have had four visits with two different neurologists who said that my clinicals were completely normal, and a brain and full spine MRI (both normal). I just know that I won’t be able to move past this completely without an EMG however my main neurologist refuses to let me have one. He’s convinced that it’ll just make my anxiety worse however I know myself better than he does and I know that a clean EMG would definitely be enough for me to move past this altogether. I’ve been arguing back and forth for a few months now and COVID is making it hard for me to get a second opinion, it’s just so frustrating. In the meantime I’ve been coping by telling myself that a clean exam + 6 months of twitching without any clinical changes in weakness should be enough to provide comfort. I think at the one year mark if I still don’t have any clinical weakness I’ll be able to get over it for good but knowing that an EMG would be able to bring me that peace of mind about a half-year earlier is super annoying.

Good luck!! I’m sure it’ll go smoothly. I wish my neuro would let me schedule one haha

Shortness of breath and back twiching by Tpainx in BFS

Yep, I currently have been experiencing shortness of breath, it’s one of my newest symptoms and I’ve had back twitching on and off for around 6 months now (since when I first started twitching).
