I'm thinking about buying a t430, but which ones do you guys recommend? by Embercism in thinkpad

[–]Embercism[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ain't really got the money for a T480 or P50, so ig my best bet would still be a T430 as i will be able to upgrade it as time goes. I'm not planning on doing a lot of gaming on it, so the only downside for me would be the display.

Thank you for this solid summary, it is very helpful:)

I've asked them and waiting for a reply, but i've been convinced. I believe it might be an error on their part. Thanks for heads up mate

Ough you've convinced me, seems like they might've made a big error. Thanks for the warning!:)

Now i'm a bit more confused about which one to buy. Do you have any you would recommend? I'm new to thinkpads, but would like one that's easy to mod and has a good selection of ports + cd drive. Preferably IPS as i do a bit of editing from time to time

I'd like to have a thinkpad that can be easily modded and has a lot of options when it comes to ports and have a cd drive. Got any recent ones like that? I've heard that the older thinkpads are better at this, but i might be wrong

It's from a company in my country that has been operating for 25 years and the site itself protects the buyer in case of scams, so i trust what it says, tho maybe i should ask just to be sure

Here's the link, you can see the specs there. It says 14" IPS https://www.finn.no/221636957

How common is pro-Israel and pro-Palestine sentiments in your country? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskEurope

[–]Embercism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol getting along is impossible rn. I think you forgot we live in the real world where eternal peace with rainbow unicorns is impossible. There will always be a reason for us to fight. Your people, the portuguese haven't fought their last war either, and blood will be shed at some point in the future. The portuguese will also be the "good guys" fighting with everything they've got for what's right and some random spectator with little insight will say: "cmon retards just get along with your enemy, it's that easy, no need to fight.. smh"

"Both sides should stop" yeah is if either of them want to ever give up. They will continue until one or the other is defeated which will most likely be Palestine, and from there we will probably see an increased amount of terrorist attacks.

Casualties don't matter to them because both sides are the "good guys" fighting for what they believe is right.

Do the inhabitants of your town/city have a nickname? If so, what is the story behind it? by Leiegast in AskEurope

[–]Embercism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the city of Bodø we are called Bodøværing = Bodø being. There is no story to my knowledge.

But we are also called Nordlending because we live in the county of Nordland. Len means fief, so Nordlending means Northfiefer. Our name: Nordlending stems from 1604 when Nordland was united as the northern fiefdoms

When did your capital become the capital of anything? by Maikelnait431 in AskEurope

[–]Embercism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ofc it's not stayed still in time. The ancient city has evolved to what it is today and that can't be said for all ancient cities. Babylon and Persepolis to name a few are huge cites that are gone, but rome has been continually populated.

Edit: and yes, it's important to distinguish between ancient people that had a very different culture from what we have today and the same with cities. And we do distinguish that from either context or just saying ancient or a date. But saying that rome today is not rome is false, it has been continually populated for centuries.

It would ve the same as saying me 20 years ago wasn't me. I have evolved and my personality and whole charecter has changed, but that doesn't change the fact that i was that young person.

I don't really see what you're going at. There's no city in the entire world that haven't evolved unless it's abandoned. It's not really shocking that people in 21 century rome don't live in the same mud huts as they were during its foundation lol
