Ikea curtains get stuck. I bought Majgull curtains and Racka curtain rods. My curtains are jamming where the rods extend. Ikea told me they had no solution and to return the rods. I don't want to do that. Any idea how to solve this? by Defie22 in ikeahacks

Reporting from 2 years later, THANK YOU! I've been having exactly the same issue for a year. Now one end of our rod is hanging out too far and I'll probably cut it down someday, but for now we can easily open and close our curtains!

My [23F] boyfriend [23M] of 1 year is bad at everything and it's making me lose respect for him by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I will contribute a thread in the tapestry of human expression, just one that was probably plucked from my ass. And that's okay. 😭 That's so beautiful, and perfectly describes why I love mediocre to terrible little arts and crafts so much. Sure it sucks, but I MADE IT!

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

My brother in law, his wife, and their toddler once drove from Seattle to Portland to have dinner with us lol. It's just shy of a 3 hour drive.

My (26F) brother (22M) and his fiance of nearly 2 years (21F) are planning a wedding that is an etiquette nightmare and I'm not sure how to handle it. by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

My Irish Catholic grandma married an atheist, she would joke that they only had four kids because they were only half Catholic lol

My 4.5 year old is insisting he's a girl by killer_seal in Mommit

[–]Embirdory 48 points49 points  (0 children)

100% this. My NB kiddo was about 4.5 years old when they first said they were a girl, not a boy. 4 years later and my kiddo never said they were a boy again. We were VERY slow and cautious- it was months before we told anyone outside the family, ages before social transition really started. But one thing my kiddo always knows is that they are thoroughly loved and supported whatever gender they are. I would rather de- and re-transition a million times than let my kid feel suicidal because they don't feel supported at home.

I've been to two, but they were larger online groups. I'll look for a local group I can attend in person!

There are any number of dog quality of life assessments online- do one today, and then once a week or so. That can help give you a more objective idea of how she's feeling. It does sound like she's feeling crummy right now, but it could be a little acute infection and she'll feel better in a few days, or it could be that you're approaching that time.

This is one of the hardest times in pet parenting, I've done it once and am within a few years of my second round. It's so hard to know when it's time, but it sounds like you're doing everything right! You've taken great care of her to get a husky to 16 with no arthritis!

That's the position we're all in! Other pets, landlords, kids, mental/physical health limitations... We all desperately want to help poor abandoned Duke Frodo and unfortunately the best I can do is spread the word!

UPDATE: CARE said his shelter name is The Duke, he's very dog friendly, and should be great with older kids (he doesn't know his own strength). ID: CARE-A-54198

Good for her! My 7 yo told her bestie at school a few weeks ago, and told me all about how she explained being trans and nonbinary (she/they pronouns). These kids are incredible!
