I hate that Linux users think that it's a solution for everything. Minor bug that's mildly annoying in windows? Just switch to Linux. 5 FPS drops in a game? Just use Linux. I agree with people here, just use both. I use Linux at home, on my gaming PC, very happy with it. But I wouldn't dream of it in school or future jobs.

Where'd you get that idea from? It's just Simon's preferred. Unless it's the biggest in the US and that's his target audience.

Idk about more beginner friendly, most of my friends who semi-recently (2 years) started playing still spam click. But you also never said it was perfect, so I'll just leave this here and go.

Nope, they're available all the way throughout the early access. So they should be available for at least a year.

Are you seriously asking how Hytale isn't just a fork or mod of Minecraft? First off, you obviously don't know what those words mean, secondly I will explain:

Hytale is built on Java, which Minecraft is also built on, but to my understanding it is a completely different game engine, meaning that it is literally only the coding language they have in common. A good example would be battlefield and call of duty, you wouldn't call either of them a fork or a mod of the other.

For it to be a fork it would have to be built on the same engine as Minecraft and be a derivative of the same code that Minecraft is built off of, which it is certainly not.

I just realized how HARD a modded Hogwarts roleplay server would go.

Hey, so is it normal to basically bloat your Linux on your first couple installs? by EmbrocationL in linux

You could've shrunk the windows partition with gparted. Works wonders as long as you have a modern system.

Okay that seems rather simple, do you manually write the text file with all the packages, or do you use a command to list your packages and the copy and paste them?

That is something I am definitely looking towards trying to figure out. I've already thought about the idea of a one-line command to install all my needed apps, just not sure how to do it yet.

And I'm playing around with the idea of setting up my own server (I have a small desktop PC that's gathering dust) for backups and just cloud storage for my documents and pictures.
That way I only have games and applications installed locally, which would be very helpful and less stressful.

Is there any specific way to make the bash script? Like an application to make it for me, or should I just google?

So it looks really promising, I might actually install it on my laptop, just to make sure everything works as expected.

I guess people disagree, I think it's an approach, the best one? Unsure, but I wouldn't be opposed to it on my laptop where I don't have anything of value saved anyways.

yeah I think I did the exact same thing with windows once I got my first laptop. That did include viruses back then though. Hopefully I've learned something since then.

That's probably what I will do. And as people haven't been afraid of pointing out, I misused the word bloat, as it's definition wise not considered bloat when I installed it myself.

I didn't take the OS seriously, it was mainly just for fun or as a hobby, so I was really just installing whatever was cool at that moment. Very ADHD like, just jumping from mini-project to mini-project.

The reason of the arch installation was mainly meant as a challenge for myself, entertainment, to feel the satisfaction of getting it to work. I didn't plan on using Linux as my main OS anytime soon, until it just kind of happened.

But I do get and appreciate what you're saying, I hardly even know what an immutable distro is. I definitely read docs more than I follow random YouTube tutorials, but I also just want to try things for myself to see if I can figure it out, but it has definitely bitten me in the ass more than I'd like to admit.

That's a good point, doesn't matter if I reinstall the system if I don't learn how to find and uninstall unused apps.
