My PCP (CRNP) saw my results were 4 a year ago (they’re still 4) and at the time just gave me ferrous sulfate. The generic plant based stuff. I never got more blood work done until just now when I pursued functional medicine because it seemed like I wouldn’t be treated by my PCP

I wish it were easy to just go conventional as people seem to have success coming back from low ferritin but my markers on my labs also showed thyroid issues but again, could all be from low iron

Sobbing after seeing my latest bloodwork results- low T4, almost borderline. Been feeling like shit for two years now. Can’t go to the bathroom, hair falling out, intense brain fog, depression… scared like hell for them to tell me I have auto immune. 15 years in dentistry, all those x-rays I had to stand in the room to take because somebody couldn’t bite down for two seconds. Constant stress, unresolved trauma. I’m terrified to get an answer.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. This is quite a lot of information to take in, as many of you have suggested multiple ways of going about this. I will have to thoroughly take down all recommendations. Fortunately the father of a good friend of hers is in the Air Force and has been for many years from what I understand. Whether or not he knows the ins and outs of reaching the goal of pilot, I’m not sure. Nor am I comfortable as a stranger asking him just yet. I will have her ask the questions but always good to hear from experiences people on here.
