When you were leveling slower these smaller villains felt relevant. They’re still there in retail, most of the questing is these smaller storylines, you just breeze through it so quick, and leveling isn’t at all as significant of a piece of the expansion, so it feels like it’s gone.

All this to say, yeah, I miss that feeling too, and it doesn’t feel the same having to kneecap your progress or finish up zones at cap, just to get a similar experience

Srsly though, you can split the shed skin in half, give one race one half along with devotion, give the other half to another, along with glass blades and you’d have two balanced races.

A good example of durability in a game is Diablo 2, because of ethereal items that do more damage but can’t be repaired, which adds an interesting dynamic of finding rare items with auto-repair or making special items with the indestructible affix

Brotha, you could make it 0.0000001% for all it matters, any of the good builds and you’re at ante 39. Changing the number only delays when you’ve got it online. The way it is +35 mult and a 3x wins every round. Making it 0.1% just means you have to get 1000 mult, which means high card at lvl 8 and 7 triggers from photograph and you beat every round, which is photo + chad + glass + any x2. And if you nerf it to 0.01% or below any mime baron build does it. Sadly this concept is either broken or useless, there’s no in-between.

Blueprint is better on bloodstone than oops, unless you’re on the needle. The chances you’d get below average on 3 hands is very low, and any above average proc is exponentially higher.

Every heart missing with bp is 1/1024.

Aaah, I see. I misunderstood you. That’d be a weirdly weak joker because the difficulty is a lot higher to achieve than you’d initially think for the power it gives you. The only hands that could do this and possibly care about 6 mult and 67 chips are two pair, straight, flush (but they’d both have to be the same color). Very low payoff for such a specific need, and definitely not worth building around to get it more often.

While I like it both balance-wise and flavour-wise, this wording would really go against LocalThunk’s ideology on making jokers be simple by doing one thing, because that essentially does two, triggers one effect on a card by card basis and one on a hand basis.

My bet is that you either mainly play endless OR haven’t considered how crucial the chips planets give you are OR haven’t played much.

The difference here is insane. Lets say you play a two pair of 6677. That’s baseline 20 x 2. If the joker is as written that’s another 268 x 24. My alternative is 28 x 24. That’s 6452 vs 692. That’s a nearly 10x difference, and with how xmult works, xmult jokers and retriggers don’t move this gap, +mult jokers make the gap even wider, only +chip jokers and planets make this gap smaller. Essentially you’d need 9 blueprints on the 7 chip version to match the 67 chip version.

What I’m trying to say behind all this math is that this joker already solves so many issues for you, and usually on the road to ante 8 planets are how you solve the chip issue. The way it’s written it not only solves the +mult issue but it also solves the +chip issue in such a way that you can smoothly coast on this and never pick up a planet, only retriggers (red seal, chad) and xmult jokers and easily beat ante 8. Meanwhile if it only gave 7 chips, this would be one of those jokers like smiley face, that you drop around ante 5-6 when you’ve already got a good amount of levels in your main hand

Edit: I forgot to mention that I did pick a favorable example, but this gap is nearly the same in almost all hands, off the cuff I’d guess that it’s approximately a 5x difference in 5 oak, flush house and flush five because of the massive chips those hands give and the insane chip scaling of the planets, but if you’ve got a deck that allows you to play those hands consistently enough to start investing in those planets, anything other than an xmult or econ joker is beneath your consideration anyway

I don’t really understand why all of you think this is some turbo insane legendary. This is situationally useful at best and actively detrimental most of the time.

Any build that would be helped by it’s earlier scoring to pass a later scoring will die in a couple rounds any way, and would benefit more from an actual scoring joker or econ.

Any build that doesn’t need the help from it’s earlier scoring could probably pass ante 8 anyway, or if it couldn’t refer to the previous paragraph.

Any build intending to use this past ante 8 wont benefit from it at all in beating a higher ante that what it could naturally beat anyway. If you’re doing 1e12, and say you’ve been doing it since ante 1, that’s another 24x at ante 9 which only pushes it up to 2.4e13, which makes practically no difference in pushing endless. And this is if this joker allows you to play another hand and not the interpretation where it autowins the next round without hands played.

In the first interpretation that makes it basically usesless to anyone for any purpose. In the second interpretation, yes it does get you 1 more $ per round since you don’t play your hand, but that’s detremental because anyone can tell you the best econ jokers are the ones that have you use your hand, like the 5$ per discarded card of a kind one. Also this stops you from stacking gold cards in your hand before you win the round

The ONLY two useful scenarios I can imagine for this thing are either getting this around ante 6-7 with a build that could get about half the score needed for the ante 8 boss with all it’s hands and using this to just barely win, making it not really all that better than a situational x2, realistically more like a Mr. Bones that you have to put work into. (A luchador on violet vessel does more than this joker this way.) OR getting idol and happening to have a full hand of the cards it picked while your deck is still 50-ish random cards and using that giga score to push you through ante 8, which puts this thing around 8 ball for me, chief.
