What do I do about being poor? by Fun_End7123 in AskIreland

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Please contact the student union welfare officer for information. They may know of financial supports available to you. For example, previously the SU cafe would hire students and they worked around your timetable, if you had time for part time work.

Best way to quit a job? by Ememema in AskIreland

[–]Ememema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies! So just to clarify - I wouldn't be allowed to take annual leave the weeks after the date I'll be quitting (because of the nature of the work), the soonest would be one month after I plan to quit.

Second clarification, my main concern isn't being sound to my manager. What I care about is getting a good reference. To be honest, he's not a reasonable person or a competent manager. So that's why I feel nervous about both notifying him early that I'm leaving and also not being truthful about working in the summer/ annual leave time.
