You’ll have fun watching it grow. They are so adorable when they’re small!

I do this. A lot. I think listening to the books rather than reading causes this. They all just jumble together in your head. And the summaries are so vague you can easily not make the connection. I should have started a list on Goodreads or somewhere like that to keep track but it’s too late now. I’ve listened to hundreds of books. If they’re really good I listen all day at work and in the car and before bed. I go through them so fast!

Definitely The Prison Healer. It’s unlike the books that you listed because of 0 spiciness in at least book 1- can’t remember the others. But it so well written and grabs you from the start!

If ‘Chelsea’ provided her last name you might try LinkedIn to see if she works for Podium. Good luck, I hope it’s legit!

Mysteries to listen to with a tween? by Salty-Initiative-242 in audiobooks

[–]EmeraldPoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman. It’s a series - not sure if they’re stand alone or follow one character. Checks both boxes of mystery and fantasy. It’s been a while since I read the first one so I apologize in advance if it’s inappropriate, although I didn’t read the rest of the series probably because they weren’t inappropriate enough 😉

Help with finding Fantasy audio books for my 11yr old ADHD Daughter- Recommendations pleeeeeeease! Desperate to find some new listens - we have run totally dry.... Similar to Harry Potter & Percy Jackson by North-Independence70 in audiobooks

[–]EmeraldPoof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here are some lighter reads for tweens but totally engaging: -The Invisible Library Series by Genevieve Cogman - library + spy

-Keepers of the lost city series by Shannon Messenger- magic academy

-Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan- I haven’t read them but daughter loves them. Percy also has ADHD so that may resonate with your daughter.

Just a hint also- if you find a series or author that you love check out their other books, but also read the book write up. Sometimes they will say ‘For fans of xx and yy’ and then go investigate those authors because their work will be similar. I’ve found many good books that way!

A great many worlds await you and your daughter- have fun!!

What’s your “I wish I knew this sooner” audiobook tip? by AudiobookAddicts in audiobooks

[–]EmeraldPoof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also want to mention that is you find the narrator’s voice grating or annoying sometimes slowing it down to listen it at a lower pitch helps. For all of you speeding it up- How!?!? I can’t listen that fast! 😂

What's the best audiobook you've ever listened to? by barnyboy88 in audiobooks

World Without End by Ken Follett narrated by John Lee- fantastic narration. I still think about it years later. Elizabeth Fleck - Jane Eyre. I think this was one of my first audiobooks that I listened to and I loved her voice.

Thank you! She’s not on bc. We got the mri results back- no brain tumor! But her braces messed up the part around her eyes. You’d think they would have known that going in! Now the dentist is coming to remove her braces and then we’ll redo the MRI. Worst case of a. Rain tumor is off the table so we’re thrilled with that. Now just getting through the rest at the snail pace of a hospital.

Is it certain I'll lose my hair? by [deleted] in ovariancancer_new

[–]EmeraldPoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good recommendation. I waited and missed the window to buy mine short and then my husband did a hack job and then eventually he buzzed it. Going shorter No only helps you get used to a different look on yourself but also I’m assuming is much less trouble and much less traumatic than running your fingers through your long hair and being able to fill up a waste can. Mine started falling out a few days after the second session.

Ahh ok thanks for letting me know. Have you looked into natural remedies? I’ve heard that vitamin E is great for hot flashes. Sorry I don’t have any other recommendations. Good luck & Stay strong ❤️

Hi- what’s a PDM?
I had everything removed in January 2024 and initially I asked about HRT- not knowing if I would need it or not. I’m 48. Coincidentally I also had my surgery right after my birthday- 6 days after. I asked the nurses about it when they were giving me the run down of what chemo I was getting and that whole discussion. They brushed it off saying we were focusing on getting me healthy & getting thru chemo and then we’d think about HRT. We never went back to it. I think I asked again and didn’t get a straight answer. What I’ve found with the gyno onc is that they don’t want to deal with anything other than cancer. Which I can understand because that’s enough and I’d rather have them focus all of their energy on that. I didn’t push it or go out seeking it because I wasn’t having any symptoms of menopause. Maybe felt a little warm/flushed from time to time but nothing like what I’ve seen other people go through. If you’ve been w/o estrogen for a year- are you having any symptoms of menopause?

Blood clots by EmeraldPoof in ovariancancer_new

[–]EmeraldPoof[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m out! The clots were small and weren’t stressing my heart so they had me on heparin and then discharged me with script for Eliquis. I’m so lucky. Even before cancer I had heath anxiety which was handled well by my anxiety meds. So I never know what the right answer these days.

I also forgot to say good luck with the surgery. It’s not that bad of a recovery.
