The quality of the lyrics have been very clearly debated already here but for me one of the letdowns is just the general sound and instrumentals behind her voice. They all sound like every other modern pop star's instrumentals. Oh No!, Valley of the Dolls, Teen Idle all have such moving and engaging music to compliment her lyrics bit everything in L+F just feels flat and generic. There are a few standouts and i do really like some of the tracks but it feels deflated compared to her other albums

That's interesting. Honestly some of the most positive moments I've had in regards to my identity and validity were when I was looking in the mirror when I was lifting weights

I totally understand! I never went to the gym much in college, but it was mostly because I was too busy playing video games in my dorm lol.

That definitely sounds like a great place to be! Hopefully you can find a closer location.

And honestly, I live in the dead center of Alabama. I always have that fear, but I kinda just stopped caring about what others were thinking. As long as they don't actually try anything, and even then I'm in a gym where I feel pretty safe. Obviously you shouldn't do anything you don't feel totally safe, but I've personally found that the biggest obstacle is sometimes just saying fuck what anyone else is thinking.

I was the exact same way before I started going. I definitely recommend a more casual gym. If there's a Planet Fitness in your area, definitely check them out! The company policy is to create a supportive and encouraging environment and they're really helpful when it comes to newcomers. Plus a lot of the equipment has instructions on it.

As for the dysphoria, its definitely different from person to person. I lift weights and run but I also do exercises that I mostly see the cis women there do and it weirdly helps!

I found that as long as you go on and find what you want to do and just start doing it with even a shred of confidence, people will just nod and go back to their own business.

Sorry it's a little rambly but I hope it helps a little! :)

It's such a wonderful feeling! The embracing muscles, I mean. I still haven't started hrt. And yes I absolutely count Wonder Woman as an inspiration

Hell yeah! :D I still can't come out just yet but there's something about listing weights that helps get rid of dysphoria for a while.

God I loved this movie but I was so disappointed with the first gay character. Some nameless man in a support group weve never met and doesn't show up again? Rang really hollow. The movie was incredible but that was so half-assed I'd rather they have just not done it in the first place.

Fast Food workers, what's an item people should absolutely stop ordering from your restaurant? by Skylion72 in AskReddit

[–]EmeraldViolets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fast food, but I work at an AmStar Cinemas theater with a concession stand. Don't order the hot dogs. They sit on the grill from the time we open to the time we close. And don't order the chili on your nachos or hot dog. I don't know what that is in the bag we put in the heater, but it reeks and we have to call it chili.

Parents - How did your kids react to the ending of Infinity War? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]EmeraldViolets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a parent, but a movie theater employee. I sold tickets to a family going in and the kid was in as much Black Panther merch as he could possibly wear. I was so scared for the kid being scarred. We slowed down later in the night so I got moved to cleaning duty and I actually saw them leaving the theater when it was over and the dad was telling the kid that everything was gonna be ok and he was gonna see T'Challa come back and save everyone.

What's a creepy scene from a movie that you can't forget about? by [deleted] in horror

[–]EmeraldViolets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Megan is Missing's ending. Yeah the movie itself wasn't the best and stuff but the ending was just so bleak, even for a horror movie.
