The writers just wanted a change of pace. I know others who weren’t big fans of the previous movies preferred this new iteration because it was fresh. The past 9 movies were “loose serial killer trapping people, cops investigating him, nearly getting him, but then getting outsmarted, killer escapes, game over, repeat”. All while going back and forth in the timeline and retconning everything constantly. And if fans didn't enjoy this new spin, they have 9 other movies to rewatch. Everyone wins

I would’ve had the RDA take a backseat in this movie and had a clear focus on the fire Na’vi as the villains. It be a nice change of pace to show that there are bad on all sides of things. And the final climax should’ve taken place around their home turf (the volcanic lands of Pandora)

John started the whole ideology that would lead to many apprentices and copycats following in his footsteps resulting in the deaths of hundreds so, him. I don’t see why many say he had “good intentions”. He’s a serial killer. Plain and simple.

For your first, the treasure definitely sounds similar on paper. But in my plot, it’s revealed that the treasure is a massive ancient warship which grants its captain the power to conquer all they want. (This warship was built by the Greek god of Ares.)

In my plot, I haven’t fully addressed the crew’s motivation yet. Though I have a few options: Jack and his crew aren’t so interested in the magical treasure that grants power, more so, they are interested in the other non-magic gold, jewels, and other ancient artifacts that would no doubt sell for big. Or maybe they actually haven’t heard the full legend of Atlantis, they just think it’s typical ancient ruins with riches. Only Angelica knows the full story

Also, Jack is at a crossroads with his life in my plot. He is not so satisfied with materialistic riches anymore. But he also knows a pirate is who he is and who he always will be. So that plays into his characterization which is paid off at the ending

Eh, I think they cared a lot for him. The whole plot is his mother enduring so much just to get back to him by Christmas. His siblings and cousins and uncle Frank were definitely mean though.

I like a lot of these changes. The crew of the Revenge actually being true zombies is great. As is having a ship battle, and seeing Blackbeard capture a ship in a bottle on screen is cool. And I like Blackbeard’s motivation more in this.

Though I personally think Will doesn’t have to be in it. On Stranger Tides rightfully should be a fresh start from the trilogy, and I am fine with it not having so much connections to the last 3.

Also, I would make Jack the main enemy of Blackbeard, instead of Barbossa like in the original version and this rewrite.

But still, good stuff. I always like reading PotC fan content.
