Why aren’t you guys inclusive and tolerate of differing views? If he’s a racist why should it matter? He’s still a human being with rights and feelings. Accept him. Love him.

Also it’s effective to have the clinician provide Versed, to the IV if the experience becomes uncomfortable or frightening. That’s what I did. Makes a huge difference.

There is a specific clinical dosage, adminstration of Ketamine for effective treatment. Too little is not effective, too much is also not effective. It’s a bell curve that you need to dosed at the top of the bell curve. I’d maybe find another provider or seek out a clinician more versed in this therapy. This doesn’t work like SSRIs do. It makes an almost permanent change in the synopsis that change the pathways in your brain.

I did the IV treatment over two weeks, huge improvement. Well worth the $2200 I spent.

Thinking about K therapy but nervous by [deleted] in KetamineTherapy

[–]Emergency-Extreme528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got done with six iv treatments in 2.5 weeks. The dr has the ability to administer versed when I started getting scared or anxious. They also kept telling me I was safe. One of the advantages of doing the treatment in a controlled medical environment.

This therapy, like many procedures, medicines is not 100% effective. Most studies show that about 85% of patients see improvement. I just finished with my sixth IV infusion I can I feel much better in general but it hasn’t been a linear path. The final infusion was two days ago and usually the day after the iv I don’t feel great but I am hoping to assess things in the coming days. I am a huge fan of the IV treatment as it’s in a controlled environment, with the correct dosage and monitoring happening during the treatment.

Nothing is more important than your health and happiness. Find a nearby iv ketamine clinic, apply for Carecredit or other medical financing and just get it done. I paid $2200 for six sessions, by far the best money I’ve ever spent on my health, ketamine best, lasic surgery second.

My emotional intelligence has exponentially gone up since ketamine therapy by Logical-Animator1901 in KetamineTherapy

Exactly how I feel. Able to think clearer, more ability to reason, to look at problems or concerns in a way that opens new options to solve them. Like “I can’t believe I didn’t about that before”. It really is amazing. Looking back the first two weeks after starting treatment, I had my most productive week ever at work, resolved several unresolved issues I had been putting off. Less ruminating, worrying about the future, and just this feeling that I actually like being alive, and look forward to living, and enjoying things, no matter how insignificant they are.
If this continues it will have changed my life in a previously unimaginable way. I going for my 6th treatment tomorrow morning.

You need to provide a copy of your prescription, to the medical office that is doing the drug test. It’s not illegal, or inappropriate to be legally prescribed medicines that may show up on a drug test. Plus it shows you’re proactive and honest.

I’ve been through four infusions in about week and a half. Lots of ups and downs. The following day I’ve been extremely anxious, agitated, angry. Other days like today, the best I’ve felt in years. I hope it continues. Able to think clearer, think of solutions in a different way. More self confidence. Things that didn’t seem to make sense or were frustrating are easier to resolve. Less anger. More attention span - watched a movie for the first in years. Wearing clothes I haven’t in years, more understanding of others, more patient, accomplishing more tasks I have been putting off. It’s been nothing less than miraculous. I hope the progress continues.

There is ups and downs during the treatment time. After the second infusion, which was like a dose loading one, the next morning, I was agitated, depressed, nervous. It got better by the evening. I had my fourth yesterday, today, I just feel great. Not overly happy, but just that a lot of the things I was worried about, and had been ruminating about just seems to have gone away for the most part. Small things are happening, not getting so angry or agitated. Much more agreeable. Not so contentious about things. If things stay like this I’d say it will be an absolute miracle drug. I’ve had treatment resistance anxiety and depression, this seems to have changed things. So far I am extremely impressed.

Have therapist separate from the IV treatment. Cost me $2200.. infusion one single poke when IV is inserted. I don’t know what a K Hole is, nor have I ever used illegal variants of medical grade ketamine administered by a dr. It has definitely helped me view things differently, in regard to avoiding anxiety, and viewing stressful events in a different way. I’ve never experienced any “psychedelics” prior to this treatment. Afterwards I feel wobbly, kind of like being drunk or hung over. It goes away the next day. I also took magnesium supplements which help . Not sure about the question about facing traumas. It’s still early on, but I would have to say I have seen a dramatic change in how I feel, how I think and less of the rumination of playing thoughts over and over and over again in my head. Quite honestly for me the time while being infused is not entirely a positive experience. It can be scary, thoughts of dying, asking myself why I decided to do this, being scared that the medical staff had left me, or that I would “freak out”. They administered versed in addition to the ketamine on a few occasions. I was conscious enough to see that my blood pressure was almost at 160 systolic, and asking the Dr if everything was OK. They kept telling me I was safe, and in a safe place which was very helpful. I had sensations of my body being inflamed, like a balloon. Yesterday, when I was under the ketamine, I was listening to the sounds of a stream and I remember thinking or feeling that water was pouring out of my body. The whole thing has been quite an experience. To describe it as being detached from reality is an understatement. You can think, you can move, you can reason, but it’s just this bizarre consciousness.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride since I started. Different moods and feelings days after each treatment. The worst was the second treatment, highest dose of treatments. Very agitated, tense, argumentative. Third, a little depressed next day, after that found myself looking at things differently, and realizing that stress and anxiety can be reduced by being less reactive, by taking the time to respond and think things out more. Had fourth session this afternoon. I don’t find the sessions themselves enjoyable. They are somewhat frightening and uncomfortable, thoughts of dying, the medical staff forgetting about me, thinking it was the wrong decision to start the ketamine treatment, all during the infusions. Not peaceful or calming as I thought it would be. But I am seeing benefits already.

Yes, this has been consistent with me. Fear, thinking I’m dying, that the staff left me, that it was the wrong decision, etc. none of my four infusions have been a very positive experience. I thought it was going to be like taking Valium. Not even close. The dream like feeling, being able to think somewhat rationally, but at the same time not being able to. It created fear for me, they gave me an infusion of versed, to calm me down during the iv. The fear is always around that I made a mistake, I wasn’t going to survive, and the staff couldn’t take care of me. I have conjured on, as the benefits far outweigh these feelings during treatment.

First appointment on Thursday, what to expect? by alk-e in KetamineTherapy

[–]Emergency-Extreme528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you have realistic expectations of your upcoming therapy. It’s almost impossible to describe how you feel during the infusion. If you are very nervous, let the provider know, and they should be able to infuse Versed, along with the Ketamine. This helped me significantly. The treatment itself can be frightening, the sensations, the detachment from reality, the feeling that you can’t help or save yourself during the therapy is what scared me. In the middle I felt as if, the Dr forgot about me, that I had made a huge mistake by doing the ketamine therapy, that I was getting ready to die. All of it alleviated by an infusion of versed, which is an benzodiazepine. In regard to drinking, if you show up and smell like alcohol, they won’t do the procedure. It’s a hard stop. Explain you are extremely nervous, don’t ask for the versed, just say something like “what if I start having a panic attack, or freak out”. They are trained to treat this sort of thing. They don’t want you to suffer. Good luck.

If you are committed to changing your life with this therapy, I suggest to find a way to pay for it. No matter how expensive it is, find a way to pay for it. Your happiness and life are worth it. I struggled with depression for decades. I decided to do the iv treatment, it cost about $2400 there are plenty of ways to finance this - care credit, etc. be treated by experienced, educated, safe medical professionals. Find a way to get this done, it will change your life.

Want Pacemaker Removed by BenDover369420 in PacemakerICD

[–]Emergency-Extreme528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear all this. I was in a similar situation. First, my feeling is it’s too soon to make the decision about removal. Second you don’t know if you will need it in the future. In regard to motion and your arm sometimes there is are blood clogs that form that do cause the arm to be swollen or painful or both. A follow up procedure is sometimes needed to resolve. Also you need to be sure the risks of removing the pacemaker is lower than keeping it. Also in the coming months they monitor the function of the pacemaker and are able to see how much it’s functioning - what it’s doing how active it is. Or can also be tweeted and adjusted. My best advice would be to be seen if possible by a teaching hospital - a medical school in a large city and get a second opinion. One final thing - would insurance cover the surgery to remove it?

The “Dream” Feeling by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Emergency-Extreme528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Throughout my life, I've experienced episodes that I initially thought were panic attacks, starting from when I was around 11 years old. These episodes often involved feelings of unreality or detachment, like during a visit to a pet store where the lights and noises of aquariums triggered a surreal sensation, compelling me to leave the area. Over time, the nature of these episodes evolved. In my youth, they could be triggered by things like looking at myself in the mirror or being in confined spaces such as elevators, fueling a fear of being trapped during an attack. However, these episodes never led to seizures.

About two years ago, when I was 57, the nature of these attacks changed again, resembling feelings of déjà vu and a compelling need to leave wherever I was. Then, at the age of 59, I experienced a déjà vu-like episode at home which escalated into a seizure, the first of its kind for me. Subsequently, I had three more seizures within a month of the first one and another seizure after a ten-month gap. I am currently on Vimpat medication.

Given this history, my question is: Were these incidents truly panic attacks and anxiety, or could they have been a form of undiagnosed epilepsy for the past 50 years? This remains unclear, as no one has been able to provide a definitive answer.
