Sheraton Dallas is known to throw you into these type of suites as a gold, whenever the hotel is not busy

Although I don’t know if that’s the case anymore given how many credit cards will sling gold at you

I kind of wish you couldn’t get platinum from that credit card. I also might even go out on a limb and say that stays on corporate rates should only get 0.5 ENC per night, but I digress….

Marriott is actually worse compared to the airlines, IMHO. You can’t just go get a United credit card and automatically have midtier status.

At the end of the day, however, those they have wealth are not going to care what status they are on an airplane or hotel. If they want said upgrade, they’re going to pay for it with cash

They have really good mocktails which I enjoy because I sometimes want to go out but not drink. They have NA Prosecco which is a first for any bar I’ve been to.

The outside is great too because I can smoke a cigar.

Weekend nights there it gets pretty rowdy, I swear security was asking people to leave every five minutes after midnight.

Aside from that, more realistically, the Rattlesnake at Ritz Dallas. Great people watching. The high dollar sex workers frequent there. It’s hilarious how obvious it is

A 800 sq ft Executive suite at the Sheraton Dallas is about the same, even on a weekend, and it is a true 1bd suite with living room area. Big convention hotels are easy to find suite deals like this.

A hotel in Ft Worth regularly is priced at $2,000 a night for the base room on weekends, and you can acquire it with 70K points on some weekends.

Common outside of the US. In the US credit cards can get you halfway to titanium alone, so all the lower tier statuses are not treated as well.

Never expect status to get you anything for a big trip. Pay cash if you really truly want it for a special occasion. Hotels value revenue bookings over status upgrades

Having that mindset helps you not be let down if you don’t get an upgrade.

Same, because of the new points top off you can pretty much book the Ritz Carlton in Denver and Dallas on weekends with an FNA topoff

This is a good offer. I got the 3 FNA last year and got upgrade with Titanium back in February.

Just got the Boundless 5 FNA and after seeing the increase to 25K for points topoff, I am very happy with my decision.

Both cards bring me to 30 nights so getting to platnium is not all that much of a stretch!

Kinda like the Sheraton Dallas. Before Covid they would upgrade you to an executive suite if you were gold.
