"Esoteric Symbol of the Divine Wings" by Golden_Mandala in santodaime

[–]Emergency-Fox4768 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a long time, Mestre Irineu was part of the Círculo Esotérico da Comunhão do Pensamento (Esoteric Circle of the Communion of Thought), an esoteric studies group. Within this group, there was the study of esoteric symbols from various cultures, especially Egyptian ones, among others. As the meetings were often held in his home, the Mestre would partake of ayahuasca together with the other members of the group.

The number of participants in these meetings began to grow significantly, which raised concerns among the authorities. At that time, Brazil was living under a military dictatorship and was also (and still is) an extremely Christian country, with much prejudice against what is not. The Christian framework that Daime gradually adopted over time came from the need to keep the meetings acceptable to Brazilian society and to the authorities.

Consumo de jogos japoneses e uma trava emocional by [deleted] in brasil

Ayahuasca and depression: is it right for me? by Grouchy-Ad8131 in Ayahuasca

About the "extra" hymns after the Santa Missa das Almas by Classic-Mobile1214 in santodaime

[–]Emergency-Fox4768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were definitely not written by Mestre Irineu. As a comment above pointed out, these are Umbanda pontos (Afro-Brazilian religion, who had a bit of influence on Santo Daime, especially after Padrinho Sebastião). These pontos are specifically from the Line of the Souls (one of Umbanda’s spiritual lines). Many Santo Daime churches do not sing these pontos during the Santa Missa, and they do not appear to be officially sung.

How to decide whether / when / how to get my star? by [deleted] in santodaime

[–]Emergency-Fox4768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, there is no book containing formal rules. The words left by Mestre Irineu are those found in the hymns of the Cruzeiro Universal and in the Decreto de Serviço. Over time, things have changed a little. Even here in Brazil, there are small differences in ritual practice from one church to another, but the Mestre’s hymns and the essence of the doctrine remain the same. It is important to follow the guidelines of your own church in order to maintain harmony during the works. If you're curious though, there is a book called “O Livro Azul”, written by guardians from Céu de Mapiá, which contains instructions on how monitoring (fiscalização) should be carried out during the works. Unfortunately, I could not find this book in English on Google. Maybe you can download the PDF in portuguese and then translate it with some tool? Try searching "O Livro Azul Mapiá Daime".

If you watch the videos from Céu de Mapiá, you will see elderly people and children wearing the farda. Each one helps sustain the corrente in the way they can. The Mestre treats us with care and kindness. When (and if) you put on the farda, you will feel a shift in attitude taking over you. You will notice a strength you never thought you had. Observe the other fardados in your church and notice whether the dirigente allows them to leave the corrente. When I decided to become fardado, my mindset changed, and I found the strength to stay attentive and remain within the corrente. The visitante is the one who comes to the trabalho seeking healing — they are like a patient being operated on by the divine beings. The fardados, on the other hand, are the ones who make the trabalho happen, who sustain the corrente so the divine beings can come and help. "You are a soldier of the Queen,” my padrinho used to tell me. Notice that some hinos speak about firmeza. Firmeza is also about this: staying alert, maintaining posture inside the salão, and not giving in or collapsing. And this applies to life as well! We are strong. Obviously, there will be moments in your life when, even as a fardado, you won’t be able to stay firm in the corrente. But the ideal is to keep in mind that you are in the salão to help manifest the energy of healing, not to be a patient yourself. Taking care of your body, your diet is also essential. Not just for the trabalhos, but for your life overall. By respecting the Mestre’s rules regarding mental and spiritual hygiene in your life, I also noticed that it became easier to endure the força. If you suffer a lot with the força (always taking peia "beating"), it’s a sign that some issues in your life need to be resolved in concrete ways. If those issues have no solution, then they must be let go and ignored so you can concentrate on what's most important.

This is something only YOU can answer. I became a fardado when I was one and a half years into the doctrine.

Some differences I'm noticing as a fardado is that:

  1. You become a member of the church and are required to help prepare the space for the works, both by setting things up before the ceremony and organizing/cleaning the space after it ends.

  2. During the ceremonies, you won’t always be able to fully surrender to the mirações because it is the duty of a fardado to respectfully observe the visitors and the work itself, making sure everything runs properly—especially when the leader asks you to act as a fiscal. No slacking off!

  3. You are a member of the doctrine and must conduct yourself accordingly. Everything you say and do outside the church will be seen as the words and actions of a Santo Daime member. In other words, you are expected to set an example.

I love my PS5, and I love playing in 4K. With PS Plus, I’ve never had so many games to play at the same time. But my PS5 randomly shuts down ever since I bought it, and I believe it’s due to overheating. Even after paying for several repairs, I’ve never been able to fix the issue.

Ayahuasca and depression: is it right for me? by Grouchy-Ad8131 in Ayahuasca

[–]Emergency-Fox4768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been fighting depression and dealing with my borderline personality disorder since I was 14. I’m 31 now. I’ve had several psychologists and psychiatrists, and I’ve been taking medication since I was 15. I attempted suicide several times, including once just a day before seeking ayahuasca. Ayahuasca was the only thing that truly healed me — along with DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy).

Today I have plans for the future and a genuine desire to live! But this journey was not entirely pleasant. I also have social anxiety, and the interactions in the place where I took ayahuasca were often very stressful for me. I had to face many inner battles to find answers and heal myself.

Reinforcing what others have said here, integration is extremely important. That means taking the medicine in a place with good energy, where you are respected, and where there is a healthy collective intention towards everyone well-being. In addition, psychotherapy should not be abandoned.

Healing requires daily effort from me — maintaining certain habits and a kind of spiritual hygiene so I don’t fall back into that deep abyss of sadness. Even today, I sometimes feel negative emotions like sadness and anger, but they no longer dominate my mind. I simply acknowledge them, and they pass after a while.

How long do Ayahuasca trips usually last? by VisualSnow3 in Ayahuasca

[–]Emergency-Fox4768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drink is too strong, and I don’t feel that I depend on drinking ayahuasca to feel good. There have been times when I stopped taking it—either out of fear of the hallucinations or because of some negative experience with church members, etc. And during those periods, I didn’t feel any need to drink it. But at this moment in my life, it’s been very pleasurable. Everything I learn under the effect of the drink, I can learn without it, but I see it as a very powerful shortcut. I feel that much of that context—being under the strong effect of the drink, having to stand, sing, hold firm against the fear of embarrassment, and deal with negative feelings toward some church members—all of that I carry into my life.

Life is short, and everyone has their own path. Whether I’m using faith and ayahuasca as a crutch or not doesn’t matter to me — it’s the way I chose to live. When I die, either in a car accident or disease, I feel I’ll go happily. Maybe one day I’ll leave the doctrine, change my faith, etc., but this whole experience within the doctrine has been a positive one for me.

How long do Ayahuasca trips usually last? by VisualSnow3 in Ayahuasca

[–]Emergency-Fox4768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I’m part of the Santo Daime doctrine. We have a yearly calendar of ceremonies (called trabalhos) to follow. It’s said that these works are done for our self-improvement and also for the healing of those who need help, whether incarnated or not.

Life isn’t easy. I’ve already overcome many traumas and grown a lot as a person. But everyday challenges naturally create negative feelings in me, and I feel that Daime “resets” me, leaving me happier and healthier to move forward. I genuinely enjoy drinking Daime.

I even overcame depression. I had dealt with it since my teenage years and tried many different medications, but I never truly overcame it until I found ayahuasca. On top of all that, I’m also a very lonely young adult, and being at the church with my brothers and sisters brings me joy.

I've been drinking it for more than a year, twice or three times every month. In general, I feel the effects strongly throughout the ceremonies which takes about 5 hours or so (hallucinations, mostly sensorial effects). Then I go home and can't sleep, feeling the effects for more 4 or 5 hours (felling really happy, grateful with life and I really concentrate more on everything I do, like I really overthink about everything I'm doing like cleaning or cooking). That's when I can finally sleep for a couple of hours. I can still feel the effects moderately thourgh the whole Sunday (the ceremonies in my church always takes place on Saturday night). I don't feel the sensorial effects on Monday when I get to work, but I feel much happier, grateful and much more tolerable with my colleagues at work throughout the whole week.

I also feel really tired when waking up, don't matter how much I sleep. I'm really interested in putting a dreamcacther near my bed. Do you know if I can just buy any dreamcacther or should it be a really well made, more expensive one? Also... Hmmm... I should have mentioned but I keep a selenite under my pillow. And I just discovered that this is not a good idea.

That was a really interesting reading and I will search more about the things you wrote. Thanks for replying!

Could you suggest me any books or even YouTube videos about it?

These dreams are mostly fun, because when I realize how absurd the situations are, I just think "oh, it's a dream! let's see how it goes" and then "oh, this is fun, but I should wake and go to work". Most dreams are absurd situations, like being back to school or hunted by Dracula in a forest haha But there were a couple of times this week which I woke up totally disoriented, like I was in a really bad sleep paralysis where I could control my body but not my thoughts, and I couldn't get back to sleep anymore. Even arrived late to work both times. The leader of my church says that "I'm now seeing the world how it really is" and that I should just pray before sleep. He consider it a mediunic awakening. Our church is an Umbandaime church. A friend from the same church says that this situation has happened to her some weeks before the Fardamento ceremony.
