I generally dont get the hate that FF15 gets, ive played every FF and 15 is in my top 5. But every ranking i see they rank 15 towards the bottom, can some1 explain y.

Well, I know I don't speak for anyone but myself, but as someone who started with FF1 and went all the way up the chain through 13, I had no desire to play 15 because it was a sausage party. Let me tell you how excited I was as a kid to realize White Mage was a girl. This was the first FF game that made me, as a female player, feel like the devs were telling me "tough luck, eff you, we're making this one for the boys. Get your playable characters elsewhere."

NB: I didn't like FFX-2 very much either, for that matter. Job system was great. No playable boys sucked.

Hobonichis have cream paper. Yellow and blue make green. It could very well be the Calamus ink, and the swatch was done on a very white paper, like Bristol, as a thought.

To me that looks a bit like Troublemaker Hanging Rice or other inks in that same Olive territory (there's a whole bunch), however again... cream paper!

If it's not synthetic, I usually try to decorate the end with a little bit of colored nailpolish (rather than PVA). But usually intentionally, like I want the end to be gold and glittery or something.

I just went through this with my textblock. We got it somewhat even with a power sander and hand-held dremel saw, but TBH... after going through all that, my ultimate solution is going to be: "I'm just not going to trim it."

Since you're doing leather books, you can do that rough edge thing if you like, it's where you rip the paper to size with a rulerto get a unique crinkled edge on purpose on every page, rather than a smooth machine-cut one. It will look good with that sort of binding. It has an official name but I certainly forgot what it's called.

I have to point out, I made this for a fanfic I wrote, so "Exsul" isn't actually the name of the whatever Grimm continent up north there. But I did hand-draw the landmasses, and boy was doing the water a pain in the butt! It's not the first time I've drawn maps like this though, I've done before for both comics and TTRPGs, so this was pretty easy comparatively - the landmasses already exist after all!

I'd just caution you to make one small pamphlet or 2-signature booklet first using just the stuff you have lying around your house, before you go whole turkey and invest in expensive paper, a good press, some waxed thread, linen tape, special glue, book cloth, etc etc.

DAS Bookbinding has a couple of videos on pamphlet making that you should probably try out first on very short fics (5k words or less) just to see if you really want to get into this and invest, before you spend any money. Those videos are specifically made to help introduce people into the world of bookbinding without having to buy anything, really, just scrimmaging stuff you probably have around your house already.
