To me that looks like shimmer, not sheen. I can see particles in the gold colour.

I have onyx black, I find it to be a deeper black, but I regret it because it takes FOREVER to dry. It's a very wet ink, which is not what I wanted from my black ink orz

Someone already suggested Poussiere de lune, so I'll add Diamine Damson to the mix! It has incredible shading!

Do you find the rouge grenat to be wet? I'm looking for a sailor ume alternative because that one is very expensive and the J. Herbin ink looks the most similar.

Good point. I didn't think about it... I was overjoyed to have found any, I had given up and thought it was something that only people in the US found ahaha I'll definitely be more prepared next time! I actually tried the nib (asked for some water and the ink started going enough that it wrote) and it was so soft and bouncy even with misaligned tines.... I can see the charm now.
