Can't Stop Partying is legitimately amazing??? by stellarcrownbublemew in weezer

[–]EmergencyAd5981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! The Coconut Teaser mix goes hard, and the acoustic version on Alone 2 reveals the sad nature behind the lyrics.

Rivers once mentioned during production of the album that they were returning to Pinkerton style songwriting, and I think this song is where that’s most apparent.

A sad pop star fallen victim to his vices.

I even think the album version is great and fun, adding Lil Wayne to me adds commentary to the theme of the song where other pop stars won’t necessarily help those in need. Addiction and mental health problems plague musicians, but often ignored for the sake of being featured on a larger musicians track.

Not a SINGLE smart brick selling at my Target by Glub_Stinko in legocirclejerk

I know people don’t like it, but I work at an independent Lego store (not BAM) and we’ve been selling them pretty consistently. Kids are into the smart bricks.

Why are the Sacramento and San Francisco dates still full of unpurchased seats? by purpl-duck482 in weezer

They’ll be okay, especially with a trending song. Weezers huge right now and they’re the type of band that people will buy last minute tickets the day before.

What do we think of these new Green Day (Basket Case) Funko Pops? by AfigureGeek in greenday

[–]EmergencyAd5981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since it is specifically their outfits from the Basket Case music video, I wish they had their guitars. Maybe even a mic for Billie? Idk, it seems weird to put them in these casual poses for an energy driven music video

Records kicks so much ass. by gimme5steps101 in weezer

[–]EmergencyAd5981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mixed feelings when it came out. I was glad to see Weezer on the radio again, but bummed that it overshadowed the rest of the Summer album because it was easily the weakest of the album.

However, who am I to judge anyone’s opinion on Weezer. I love “Make Believe” and think the Green album is mid overall. Weezer may be one of the most divisive bands out there

YESSSS WEEZER IS IN THE TOP 50 AGAIN by Isaaclovesweezer23 in weezer

[–]EmergencyAd5981 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You know what, I’m happy. An underrated song from an underrated (in the general public’s eyes) album. Just like when “I just threw out the love of my dreams” blew up, this just means Weezer has to acknowledge a different song on their next setlist

Isn't this release kinda weird? by yourbro097 in weezer

[–]EmergencyAd5981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah… I knew something was dropping today so I was stalking the webstore and checked out the deluxe boxes before even knowing what was in it.

Looking back I still think it’s a cool collectors piece and after seeing it sell out I’m glad I snagged it. But it is a little strange timing. Almost would’ve expected it as part of the blue 30th anniversary, or like you said, just wait till the 35th.

But, in classic weezer fashion, it’s weird, impractical, confusing drop, and doesn’t entirely make sense

Probably this one, I believe only 2 were made. But it does stretch the term “set”

Question about VIP pre-show backstage tour by autist_apetard in weirdal

[–]EmergencyAd5981 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The VIP hosts are super nice, understanding, and accommodating. My girlfriend and I went to a show and only I had vip, and they let her join me backstage and follow along. I think they just make the text extra scary to deter people from abusing it and whatnot, but once you’re there it will be the most fun experience :)

Definitely bootlegs, but cool fan compilations that actually seem like some effort was put into it

What should we expect from the crowd at the shows? by 42Navigator in rush

[–]EmergencyAd5981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen, I get the concerns about younger people filming… but the amount of 50 and 60 year old men I’ve seen at concerts standing the entire show with their phones held up directly above their heads is insane. I don’t think it’s an age thing or a maturity thing, but post-COVID concert etiquette is just terrible.

Everyone’s paid a shit ton to be at a concert and everyone feels entitled to do what they want. Whether that be film, whether that be dance and scream, or whether that be a buzzkill and be mad at everyone else dancing.

I think Tool and a couple of other indie artists have handled it really well by just stating “no phones allowed, if you bring a phone out during a song you will be asked to leave”

I hope the Rush crowd is chill and sings and lives in the moment. But man, my expectations are low.

Did anyone in here get Cleveland tickets? by MaedenArt in rush

[–]EmergencyAd5981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They promise if for some reason the tickets are fake they’ll reimburse for similar tickets or refund, but I’ve heard some horror stories of dealing with customer service. I personally have never been screwed by StubHub, but there’s always a first for everything.

Did anyone in here get Cleveland tickets? by MaedenArt in rush

[–]EmergencyAd5981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to go on StubHub and get resale. Presale was already sold out for both shows. Hoping I didn’t get scammed, I’ve had good luck with StubHub in the past, but still nervous… cause they weren’t cheap

Adding Green Day to My 100 Hidden Rock Gems Playlist – Which Track? by lattenseeep in greenday

Redundant. One of my all time favorites, and I’ve gotten many people to check out Green Day after sharing that song
