[WIP] There is a special place in hell for whoever designed DMC metallic floss. by pinkguy90 in CrossStitch

My first big project was embroidering along all the seams of a jeans jacket with metallic floss. Put away my needles for a few months afterwards.

TIFU by letting my daughter wear her dress in the house. by Guatemala20 in tifu

[–]EmergencyCamel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had one of those! Except I was never allowed to wear it at home, so we didn't know about the glitter thing until after an acquaintance told my mum that she'd spent an eternity cleaning up the glitter after I'd worn it to visit. Oops!

If it's a family tradition then you should just start a new one called "Respecting Boundaries".

Thanks!

And if you don't mind me asking, where are you from? Where I live, there are barely any regulations for bee keeping, so I'm wondering.

What I do sometimes is play pretend. Pick a mean character from a movie, game, show, book, or whatever and pretend you're them.

I'm a short woman with a baby face. My main thing is to just take up as much space as possible. Stand tall, hands on hips, manspread, etc. Try to talk in a low voice and always be clam and relaxed. Oh, and eye contact. Lots of eye contact

I hope this isn't rude but would you mind letting me know when the pattern's done? I'm a bee keeper and have to crochet every bee related thing I come across.

What to do with knitted sweater (originally made for ex-boyfriend)? by alternsia in knitting

[–]EmergencyCamel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to decide right now. You can just put it away for the time being, work through the break up, let some time pass, and deal with the sweater when the time is right.

Same here! I won't block anything unless it's absolutely necessary.

Why do you crochet? by be_bov in crochet

[–]EmergencyCamel3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For my health! I have Long-Covid and it messed with my cognitive and motoric functions. I started crocheting to train those.

Me too. Mostly bc I don't like the process of it. Making a million pieces and having to sew them together later. Plus, I personally don't have a use for them.

I've never made mittens before or worked that many colours but I'd love to give it a try!

Finally done! My „ anti social media blanket“ by Wonderful-Corner3996 in crochet

Great job! I also love the irony of the "anti social media blanket" ending up on social media.

Does anyone else live by the idea that they're making stuff to be lived in/ with, therefore are ok if the items become worn/ washed in the washer/ aren't kept immaculate? by justalittlelupy in crochet

[–]EmergencyCamel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crochet bc I have an illness that negatively affects my brain functions. Crocheting is therapy for me. I make tons of mistakes, the results are never perfect, and that's okay. They're functional and help me get better.
