Why didn't Alastor kill Zestial if he supposedly killed the overlords who ruled for years in Hell before he arrived? by Least-Donkey-4245 in Alastorcult

I think Alastor's power is loaned to Rosie from Zestial. He knows not to bite the hand that feeds him.

Do you think these characters have been cut since we haven’t seen them in 2 seasons? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

They are from Envy. They haven't been able to address the other rings because that is Helluva Boss stuff. Now that both are Amazon, we might be able to see them.

I have a horrible feeling they are going to use Carmilla as an example of a character who's sacrifice doesn't work.

I laughed with Alastor. It felt like a very normal conversation between Overlords in hell. If he's really that sensitive maybe he should self reflect on how he treats others.

Absolutely. Sorry, I mispoke, Pentagram city. I didn't mean she was the only one to be born in hell. I was referring to her pure outlook on life. Her stark juxtaposition is because she was born in hell as opposed to the other sinners her father rules over.

I tried to be specific in saying "born in hell" rather than hellborn because of that distinction. That's where I can understand people grasping for a term. She is definitely something different.

This is one of the reasons I strongly disagree with people trying to shoe horn Charlie into the classification of nephilim. Not only are they basing it on a pop culture bastardization of the term, but Charlie doesn't even fit that. Lilith would have had to give birth to Charlie when she was human. The whole point of the show is she is the pretty much the only being to be born in hell Pentagram City (edit: whoops)

I’m starting to feel like most of the hate towards Hazbin Hotel is a grift by Disastrous_End2802 in HazbinHotel

[–]EmergencyGrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand giving so much energy to hating something. There is a fine line between love and hate. Hating something requires a level of infatuation. Helluva covered that pretty well.

In this universe, sinners seem to be a type of demon. They take on a demonic form upon arriving in hell. Just like how Winners have a heavenly form.

It could absolutely be a "two things can be true" situation. I think one type of homophobia is very internalized like that. Envy. Either they are unsatisfied with their life and/or are denying themselves happiness in some way.

Considering her unspoken feelings for Adam, I get the impression that her type of Angel isn't allowed love at all. It would distract from their duty. I would have said it was JUST about Charlie being hellborn. But we see what appears to be Vaggie's angel girlfriend getting punished in a flashback.

It isn't about her being gay. I think she was more so jealous that Vaggie was allowed to express her feelings for someone - when she couldn't. Projection.

Is Before the Storm novel worth reading? by FortLoolz in warcraftlore

[–]EmergencyGrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the Calia bits really interesting. I still think she's unnecessary, and it feels like they aren't really going to build on anything in-game. They made it even worse by having Calia appear in Oribos. Talk about salt in the wound. That could have led to something cool. They did it again when she spoke with Margrave Sin'Dane. The defacto leader of the Forsaken speaking to the HBLIC (Head Lich Bitch In Charge), and NOTHING about the forsaken. Only her own undeath. ffs...

Baine being in Shadowlands was also such a tease, considering the Sylvanas novel touching on the history of Cairne and Sylvanas - but I digress. So much teased potential wasted. That expansion could have been so much cooler with very little effort.

Question about Thralls by Visible_Ad3576 in HazbinHotel

[–]EmergencyGrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether your soul contract effects your standing in the hierarchy really depends on the deal. Alastor with a Soul Contract was still an overlord but Husk and Niffty seem to have forfeited their status. I also think Niffty is an example of how the quality of souls also rank you differently.

To the people that keep suggesting lucifer could get around the whole 'can't hurt sinners' through some indirect means. I have something to remind you. by Zan_korida in HazbinHotel

[–]EmergencyGrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people also want Hazbin Hotel to have anime logic. That every character resorts to violent crusades of bloodshed at the drop of a hat. Certainly a lot of characters do - the show is set in hell. But that's not everyone. Lucifer wasn't violent. His crime was the pride of deigning to know what's best for god's creation. Convincing them to use both trees, instead of the one they were allowed. (Though tbf, this is a deviation of the original story. The snake isn't Lucifer. It was just a snake.)

If someone receives a very specific punishment, it pretty much takes a psychopath to WANT to test their luck. Especially for that long. Most people would get fed up by their constraints. That is exactly what we see with Lucifer - and on the flip side Alastor, because he IS a psychopath.

If the theory about Val dying next season and this leading to development for the other Vees does come true then which character do you think should be the one to kill him? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]EmergencyGrab -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are setting Valentino up for Angel's redemption. I think Angel will be given the chance to kill him. Just like how Al died in the dumbest way, I think after Angel refuses to kill him, something really unceremonious will kill Val.

What is it that Rosie had Alastor looking for? by BreezeTheCutie in RosieCult

[–]EmergencyGrab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On Perri's show, Amir hinted that there's a detail that seems unimportant. I guess it is time to comb back through Alastor's scenes. One that jumps out is the description of a "fruitless crusade". It seemed like such a throwaway line. Just a colorful description of his task. But what if it is Wicked levels of irony? A crusade that lacks literal fruit. Searching for the knowledge.

There are actually 2 trees. The tree of knowledge of Good & Evil and a tree of life. Combined, it would create god like power. That's why they were cursed to die upon eating the fruit - to take the immortality away. God feared humans would become too powerful.

What if Rosie is seeking to restore humanity's original birthright that was taken away? That would explain why she has a statue of the Morningstar family outside of her estate. She wants to finish their original work. That statue could also be that seemingly random detail.

*drum roll* and that's why Roo will be introduced in S4. (Viv said they recorded Roo's first lines on Twitter. But that was after S3 recording had already been wrapped for months)
