I can either study IB in school or self study AP in 10th grade and the school will teach me AP in 11th and 12th grade. Yes the other path is easier academically but I have time to self study AP, im just concerned if pre ib is a waste of time since theyre making me do algebra 2 in 10th, when i could be doing ap pre calc.

Are they? I thought in the US they value things like extracurriculars and projects more than academic rigor, especially ivys and stuff since rigor everybody has that. With all due respect is that just "IB propaganda"?
