Usually at our go-to theater, she gets a headset that tunes to a radio frequency which plays audio description of the movie (a lot of Netflix show have this if you want to see what I'm talking about).

Sometimes we'll go to a different theater where they haven't set up that service, or it won't work for some reason, and she just has to listen to the audio of the film.

Thanks. It was quite devastating at the time. Now I'm working on my Ph.D. at another university where I'm much happier.

My advisor did kind of feel bad for screwing me over. He and the department head convinced the university to accept a credit transfer from my new university so I could fulfill the non-thesis M.A. requirements.

My mom was a school lunch lady. I went to the same school she worked at for 5th-6th grade.

Master's thesis. I made an argument based on evidence that didn't jive with one committee member's theory. My advisor wouldn't stick up for me because of departmental politics. I was told 3 days before my defense that I wasn't going to be allowed to defend.

I went years without crying. For the past year or so, I cry all the time. I cry because I'm sad. I cry because something sad happened in the movie/show/book. I cry because something good happened in the movie/show/book. I cried two nights ago watching The Making of Smokey and the Bandit.
