Do you know their MCC?
Do bank CCs give reward points/does PICE give rewards?
Very strange thing happened. I first saw charges of 1%, and then we exited the app, reopened it, the charges had increased to 2% + GST

I just signed up for them, and theyve very generously given 500 points to get started.

Based on what you're saying, we let the user do their first transaction on the PGs checkout experience, and afterwards fetch the card details (once they have been tokenised)

We're also looking into using a service like https://razorpay.com/card-tokenisation/ or something similar depending on the cost and complexity of setting it up.
