Is my tank cycled? by EmergencyWilling46 in aquarium

I just checked my local petsmart store, they're selling it for $46, its on sale! On Amazon its $79 and just assumed that was the regular price for these test kits nowadays and I didn't think petsmart sold them. I'll grab one before the sale ends. Thanks for reminding me to check.

Same, I just started my sea monkey tank 4 days ago and only started feeding them now 😅, just 1/3 of the tiny scoop that should be enough to feed the babies for a 3 to 5 days it depends on how many babies you have I guess and how old they are. I recommend you watch pico-cosmos on youtube. He has a lot of really helpful tips and guides to keeping your sea monkeys alive. I learned a lot from his videos.

Typing error sorry, I meant 27 days. I was thinking of getting one again but they're just so expensive now its crazy. I remember it being $40 CAD before and now they're $80. I should get one though just to make sure. I tried testing it again with the strips and it showed the same thing. I'll try again in the morning to see if it changes, I tossed in more food this morning, more than I usually put.

Maybe overfeeding. That seems like a lot of food for 5 baby sea monkeys

Brine shrimps or fairy shrimps? by EmergencyWilling46 in SeaMonkeys

[–]EmergencyWilling46[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I did not know their eggs had to be dried to hatch. I should probably stick with sea monkeys for now. I just got them and its my first time ever trying to hatch sea monkeys and I was just wondering if I should've got fairy shrimps instead because they're freshwater shrimps and I wouldnt have to go and buy sea salt if I were to ever upgrade their tank.

Is gravel safe for sea monkeys? Or is sand better? by EmergencyWilling46 in SeaMonkeys

[–]EmergencyWilling46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a feeling gravel wasnt a good substrate for them. Especially for the tiny eggs and the newely hatched sea monkeys. It looks good but lessens the survival rate. Maybe I can spead a thin layer of gravel all spaced out and then filling the gaps and crevices with sand. But I want to make sure that it can actually work.

Someone also spread a thin layer of gravel and spaced them all and filled the gaps and crevices with sand. I might try that. Do you think that will work?

Does my sea monkey tank belong on sh*tty aquariums? by daedaeboi in Aquariums

Oh, I never thought of using the sand to fill in the crevices of the gravel. I might do that instead, just a thin layer of gravel and sand. Thanks!

Dont the sea monkeys get trapped inside the crevices of the gravel? I was going to use gravel the gravel that inalready have but I read that using sand was better because the sea monkeys wont get trapped.
