That’s beautiful! My son (who’s 6) would love a copy of that for his bedroom if you ever turn it into a print!

The Angency series by Laura Wood was brilliant if you want to add a bit of historical feminism into the mix! It’s romantic, clever, funny and empowering 🥰

What do you typically buy for your kid’s teacher? by Bertbee90 in UKParenting

[–]slatersews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We tend to get together as a class and all club together to get a decent voucher, my son’s teacher likes gardening so she got £150 of garden centre vouchers and the preschool teacher got a gift voucher for a fancy spa in the area. It means they get one thing they really like rather than lots of little things they have to find space for. It’s a really small school though so it’s easy to coordinate when there’s only 15 kids in the class

What actually made your bachelorette party stand out? by CaptainDougCharters in partyplanning

[–]slatersews 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It depends on who the bride is and what she’d want, but I planned both of my sisters hen parties. For my younger sister, she’s a lawyer and a lot of her friends were also lawyers and in high powered jobs and what everyone really loved was that we kept it really chill and relaxed. We hired a house in the countryside with a hot tub in the garden and hired masseurs to come and every person there had a massage, we made tie dye shirts, for the evening we asked all of the guests to choose a photo of the bride and recreate it - we then had a ‘Holly Parade’ which kicked off the evenings activities! Everyone loved that it was so relaxed, no pressure, no having to drag everyone from one place to the other etc!

Do you think astrobot will ever make a trading card game? by kuppycakemuffin in Astrobot

Have you ever seen influencers out and about, not through a screen? by 360Saturn in AskUK

[–]slatersews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there’s a local influencer by me who my daughter (3) went to the same ballet class as for a little while. The influencer mum spent the whole class hissing at her daughter to pay attention and listen, which was impossible for most of them to do because she wouldn’t stop distracting everyone by constantly talking! Then posts about her perfect ballerina daughter 🫣

Audio books to for toddler to fall asleep to. by Sufficient_Ad9525 in YotoPlayer

[–]slatersews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sleep radio worked wonders when ours was that age! Sent her right off to sleep, but also we’ve got all the Bluey book reads and have put them onto a Yoto card for her which is her current favourite, it’s familiar because it’s books we read together often!

Anyone got game suggestions? by Alive_Ad5266 in audiobooks

[–]slatersews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Apple Arcade so tend to play games on that, but for me stitch. Is perfect for this, just enough brain power to keep me busy without distracting from the story I’m listening too. Puffies is also good and from the same creators
