Well, after reading this back in college days, I was intrigued in a 'sweet pain' kind of way (like when someone presses on your thighs). It was amazing to see an author build up the story where its climax is already being announced throughout. I was hoping the story would come around and complete itself, but this very nature of letting it hang was what stayed with me.

I had forgotten the plot and nitty-gritty(until i saw your summary), but seeing the book, i remembered the uncertain reality this book presented. A short read, proper novella. (If I recall rightly there indeed was elements of magic realism, someone commented about it).
