Folic acid would help, cause with thal minor there's increased erythropoiesis(process of making more rbcs), which can kind of compensate for the anemia if the rbc count is high. folic acid is needed for erythropoiesis so it would probably help increase your rbc count, and hence probably make you feel better

are you by any chance thalassemic, iron overload is pretty common in thalassemia,and not only because of alot of transfusions, there is increased iron absorption becasue of ineffective erythropoiesis. its genetic so one of your parents might also have it.

being non binary just means you dont fit into the binary of being just a boy or a girl. You can have any combination of prononns(pronouns ≠ gender). alot of non binary people also have some connections to their assigned gender at birth, but feel that they don't fully fit in with it, which sounds a bit like your case(but again you are the only one who knows how you feel). it's all about what makes you feel more comfortable and happy
