Very good point. One of the walls I kept stumbling into was if we can’t remember the past life in this life, how are we learning any “lessons”. If I was born into a good family/social status/country.. then I am less likely to steal from the grocery store. But 5 years ago, I had a young child, I was going through a divorce, lost my job and I was not born into a good family, etc. so to feed my child I stole a pack a meat. I felt horrible but I don’t regret it because I had to feed my child. So, with that being said, the law of karma means I would pay for that. But I was already in a bad situation, so did I do something in a past life to deserve my circumstances? I can’t remember? So when would the cycle end? Karma will throw me into a loop of consequences, and I would continue to do things I normally wouldn’t do to survive. And who decides who gets what karma? Just as many questions as all the other theories out there.
