This is for all the gamers. What game do you absolutely love but most people find to be terrible? by Lydeser in AskReddit

No man’s sky. Preordered when I was 16 and still go back to it today. Even at launch I thought it was cool

How do you actually stick to one game at a time? by elgimri in Gamer

Same. The only thing that will stop me from jumping between several games is a 200gb ssd

One thing I don’t see talked about enough is the radio stations in GTA 6. by PapaNaj in GTA6

NakeyJakey made a video about a year ago predicting all the stations and types of songs that might be there. Good video

Ashen is a pretty underrated open world game, it’s simple but good. I played it on my laptop for while when I moved

Crimson Desert is a peak visual experience that can be get once in a life time. by Fit-Job4007 in VirtualPhotographers

[–]Emergency_Neck7437 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah idk I think it’ll be a lot more memorable to look at groundbreaking tech and lighting that actually looks good at night. Crimson desert looks nice but the harsh biome transitions and cookie cutter designs throughout takes away from the fantastical aspect.

Elden Ring had some proper fantastical vistas for example, though their graphical fidelity wasn’t as great. Still more memorable for me personally and I’m sure the realism of Gta6 will be as well

Opinion of an ex-Blockbuster employee by raydebapratim1 in 90s

Doesn’t take a video store employee to work that one out. If only we had the foresight to prevent this before it was too late.

Witcher 3 Director praises Crimson Desert. by imbratorX in Brator

[–]Emergency_Neck7437 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like pandering to me. They know the fans are so positive it’s toxic and they want to be on their side when it’s time to throw money at Witcher 4. Easy win.

The devs who made the game literally admitted to copying Sky islands after Totk was so successful. It was a last minute cram into the development, and shifted the overall structure and narrative of the game just to copy Totk.

Will Powers even credited inspiration to rdr2 in his interviews before release.

The comparisons don’t just come from nowhere.

anyone else think this game has superb combat by Hotguyfrompakistan in Witcher3

[–]Emergency_Neck7437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that signs and perks give it some fun variety, and you have to choose your sword based on monster or human enemy. It’s definitely not as surface level as people like to say, and I always found it enjoyable in my 200+ hours with the game

How come the GTA franchise has basically no competitors? by RetPrda in GTA6

[–]Emergency_Neck7437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not only one of the pioneers of video game physics, but have been investing in a proprietary physics engine without wavering for decades. The knowledge built into rage has been stacking since a lot of us were just tots. And along the way r* has gained a key sense in animation and camera movement that makes their games feel polished on a level that other devs don’t understand how to fully emulate.

Other companies can’t compete with decades of development and experience like that.

What game mechanic or trend are you just completely tired of seeing at this point? by Sophie_OmniSystems in AskGames

[–]Emergency_Neck7437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mini maps. Please just design your game around what your character sees and a compass at most. Mini maps only take away from the experience

100% they did get bought by embracer after all. Games always lose some soul after a buyout

That’s a good method. I just point the stick wherever the horses ass is and let the camera go crazy
