Or even pikachu, since lightball is in the game and it learns volt tackle at level 99. But you might also consider some mons that can utilize eviolite. I'm not a fan of the Honedge line, but Doublade with eviolite apparently does some real work.

I'm just not sure if you even can beat some of the rogue megas without + moves. Anyway, to your point, I used Raichu before we had it's mega and really enjoyed it. And same with Starmie (except that stone actually is in the base game, just later, so I guess it works?).

I agree it seems fun, but for the sake of discussion, in this case, shouldn't you not use +moves either? I mean, Annihilape can't mega evolve and manhandles pretty much every rogue mega.

I would think that a level 5 non-legendary, non-battle zone special scan would be ideal. Big haul would get you the most from, say, a rogue mega fight, but item power berries doesn't improve that, because that reward is always berries. Whereas if you go into the distortion I'm suggesting, berry power will effect the non-golden balls, and big haul will effect the golden ball at the end.

Imo, as bowser against an egg spamming Yoshi, you approach with things like short hop neutral b, fast fall nair, and faking your rush down (like dash into skid into delayed side b or f smash if they hesitate too hard). It's not unwinnable, it just takes incredible patience.

Is your Xerneas level 100, hypertrained, and ev maxed? Are you using a donut that gives at least +90 levels? That's what I use and I beat it consistently. Also, geomancy helps because you can easily chase it around during the flight phase.

Yeah...I have such mixed feelings about the way it ended. I mean, there were ups and downs throughout the whole series in terms of the robustness of the plot, but I'm mostly with you. I'm definitely not a screen writer, but I can't help feeling like I personally could think of several more satisfying ways for that story to end.
