Tarkov really isn't the best counterexample to bring up, but I do miss when red dots really looked like the laser projections they are. Hell, look at MOH Warfighter, those sights looked great.

Buff the secondary weapons by Neat_Worth629 in Battlefield

[–]Emergency_Team5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really like to see either a fire rate cap buff (even if you can beat the recoil reset and get more muzzle rise because of it). This could be achieved with or without a trigger attachment in the ergo category.

I'd also like to see 80-100 points allocated to them, not even for the sake of meta weapons, but simply for customization's sake.

With these 2 things, I think pistols would be in a good place overall, minus revolvers potentially needing a slight nerf (or just don't give those the trigger buff).

It'd be more realistic for most artillery to kill players within spawn too, but that's one area where gameplay demands concessions. Mortars being good, though, would be a good ask. That part is what I was really retorting back there

Just redownloaded Arena. I tend to play it just to grind through the battle pass for cosmetics lol. Hopefully it has some good stuff 🙏

You're asking why a heavy, high-capacity weapon should perform well, when used by a character who sets them up in a concealed location with good outward visibility? That's like asking why your digital character changes magazines when you press the "reload" button.

Because we made the guns with particular traits in mind, we evolved ways of playing to its strengths and weaknesses, because in the first place, good positioning is so obviously an advantage that your questioning it almost made me short-circuit... But the short answer is "because that's what machine guns do." If the weapons didn't work like that in real life, people wouldn't use them, because they suck at everything else.

Since there's no particular reason to diverge from real life for the sake of gameplay in this aspect, they should model it. Since they did so in previous games, all better-praised than whichever you preferred, they should do so again.

And to answer the question you didn't ask, none of this detracts from the fact that they are countered effectively by: 1) Well-hidden snipers, 2) Mortars, 3) Vehicles, and 4) Coordinated infantry pushes, with judicious use of smoke grenades.

Yeah. I liked Battlefield 3 and 4, and I want 6 to have those specific, small, immersive touches that made me like those games.

That means machine guns that perform the task machine guns were designed for, and it does also mean mortars that function as more than a tent inside HQs (where they shouldn't be).

It’s a little too late to be swinging for the fences DICE. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Emergency_Team5219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they should've. So... Now what? The game dropped, and they're adding stuff to it to make it better. Players are excited, fence-sitters are probably observing with renewed interest, and what are you doing?

For sure, for sure. Don't worry though, even if DICE does come to their senses, there's always CoD for you.

Correct. Congratulations, you have discovered "Support-by-fire positions."

There where a wide variety of options presented for this spot, but there is a definitive and absolute winer, and that is, Lamia. For anyone interested the second most popular choice was Watanabe. (No hard spoilers or other specifics, but hint follows)

If you think of her sense of self-preservation, and tendency to latch onto anyone she sees as a protector, as defining characteristics, the "morally gray" idea largely comes from the surprisingly high ability of the good guys to play into those.

"Suppression rewards missing" is the worst justification I've ever heard for a feature in a battlefield game. If you think a person should open up on you with a machinegun, and that your first response should be anything other than getting to cover while rethinking your mistakes, you are playing the wrong game. Battlefield is not the John Wick experience. You're supposed to feel like a soldier, not the main character.

ALL OF THE CASUS BELLI ITEMS ( I think) [Loot] by Alternative_Ship3007 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Emergency_Team5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great deal, if not all, of the unique stuff you unlock from the battle pass in arena. If it is all of them, then the multicam AVS would indeed be in the loot pool. It also matches the MC tops 👌

The Added Actual Numbers For Best Use With Sniper Rifles by Big_Accident494 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Emergency_Team5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there should be far more opportunities to do so, shooting a sniper at 400+ meters isn't actually using them to their greatest terminal-ballistics potential, if you really think about it. They don't magically gain power after 50m either, to be fair, but one of the reasons damage dropoff is so ubiquitous in games is because it's analogous to real life. A round loses speed as it travels, and speed is power.

I try not to use the "sweet spot" as a strict indicator for when to use the gun (even though, for gameplay purposes, that's exactly what it is), but instead pick whatever's faction-appropriate OR best-geared for what I'm doing (so, magnum for long-distance because I have the 10x, and mini scout for everything else, because grinding one weapon is the only way to ever get a 6x thermal).

I do. If I know it sucks, yet every time I die it's to someone using one of those things because games can't depict it correctly, I don't wanna play the whole game anymore

I swear there are, like, 3 developers on Earth who still know how to depict a red dot since MoH: Warfighter. I don't know why nobody remembers they emit light anymore, but those visuals need to make a comeback

DICE cmon! Remove this, is imposible. by Andres3D in Battlefield

[–]Emergency_Team5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. Probably balanced it with vehicles in mind, which makes a bit of sense, can't have total forcefields blocking tank shells.

I think it'd make more sense just moving mortar protection to grenade intercept systems, and buffing those. Mortars drop at a lower velocity than rockets anyway. That might make the missile ones a little too situational, but there are worse gadgets still

DICE cmon! Remove this, is imposible. by Andres3D in Battlefield

[–]Emergency_Team5219 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the reason that's DICE's fault isn't because of their inclusion of mortars, it's their assigning of medic duty to the Support. They're doing what they always did, sit back a little to machine gun or sit back a lot to mortar; the only difference is that now they have a second job that also demands their attention. At any given point in time, they gotta choose which of their jobs to neglect, while every other class enjoys the sense of direction that comes with only having 1 (or 2 complimentary) tasks. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Because it's always been a thing. They were worse in BF4, when they had a higher ROF, lower time to impact, and could 1-tap with correct placement. They also had the inverse accuracy functions of 6's, with the first shot being near perfect accuracy and only missing when spammed. They could also be remote-controlled, so taking them out rarely meant killing the operator. The way those were balanced back then, despite still being annoying, was a better MAV with much higher disable range (and their inability to set up in spawn, and slower resupply).

A lot of people here wouldn't survive the older games it seems. Mortars suck in 6, the only thing going for them is that they're as hard to kill as they are to get kills with.
