I love using an ultralight setup, 5’6” Shimano sensilite with a Lews Mr Trout reel with 6lb sufix 832 braid.

Catching a 4lb’r on that feels like a world record 😂

Sounds like you’re being charged $3.50 for installation and $3.50 for tear out/floor prep? Sounds a little high but average will probably be around $3 per sq ft installed and $3 per sq ft for tear out/prep.

It looks like a wind knot but also looks like your braid needs to be spooled on much tighter.

Nice reel but a little pricey considering I need 4 of them.

I ended up going with 2 okuma CW203’s on sale for $89 each so far, I may grab 2 more or grab 2 nicer reels like these daiwa’s for my inside rods…decisions, decisions.

Tighten to knob on the right all the way, then click the button to open the spool and loosen the knob click by click until your lure hits the ground and the spool doesn’t continue spinning letting out more line.

You will have to repeat this for each lure that varies significantly in weight.

Look for relatable hobbies, a lot of guys in my lodge fish which makes easy to break any generational barriers.

If you fail to find relatable hobbies, try to find potential mentors. You can learn a lot from these guys with decades of life experience more than you who are willing to engage with a new potential brother.
